I'm trying to find the proper name for an insect we often saw when I lived in Central America.

It has been a good 35 years since I have seen one of these, and as it sometimes happens, my childhood memories may not be accurate.

I believe the bug was a beetle, brown and about an inch long. It had 2 "headlights and a red taillight" and would light up for quite a long time.. not just a flashing blink, but actually a good sustained amount of time.

They might have been called cacuya, or cocuya.. something along those lines. So far my googling is hitting on nada.
