When we decided to start our own hives, we found out there was a local beekeeping association. You might try calling your county extension agent. He or she might know of local bee keepers. Bees have been very helpful on our farm by helping the local wildflowers spread. But, you might want to consider starting your own hives if you have enough trees and flowers for them to pollinate. They are pretty maintenance free here. But, we are at a high elevation and haven't had the mite problem. We took a beekeeping course at the local Pikes Peak Beekeeping Association and they got us started so nicely. Look for locals in your area. Good luck.

Thank you, Oberhaslil! That seems to be a very good recommondation. I will certainly contact our local extension agent. Again, I thank you.
