There are some large bugs that I see fairly often, frequently in my garden. Their bodies are about 1 1/2" long, and they have long legs, which make their total length about 3". When they fly by, they buzz. Does anybody know what they are and what they eat? Would they eat caterpillars or butterfly eggs?

Whatever they are, it looks like there will soon be more of them!
