I was mowing the lawn in my back yard and noticed this 17 year cicada. It kind of surprised me because there were hardly any of these in my town at all, but other local towns around 5 miles away had many thousands of these. I live in ENE NJ Middlesex co and I'm not sure what the exact species of this is. I know it's a magicicada, is it possibly a magicicada septendecum? I heard there are also cassini around the same areas.
