Hi everyone,

We have tons of white pine on our property, and I live in fear of getting what I think are called bag worms. They live on other peoples' properties fairly close to here. As I was taking pictures of some shrubs I have, I discovered a cocoon that looks a bit like a bag worm's cocoon.......but I thought they only grew on evergreen trees. Of course, I don't want to call it an enemy, until I can accurately I.D. it. Any ideas? I think this shrub is a chokecherry. I hope the image is large enough for you to see it. Thanks for your help!
