Just about all of them offer programmable thermostats now, and there are several that are very similar, all of which are good products, all with good customer support, those being Suntouch, Warmly Yours, Laticrete's Farenheat, and I believe Costco's product is also pretty much the same thing. Another one called NuHeat is just a little bit different in that the mat itself is more of a loosely woven linen, as opposed to the others that are more like fishnet.

Bill,

I looked at the sites for the warmers and have a question. None of them show a crack suppression material like Ditra in use during installation. Are there warranty or performance issues I should be concerned with? I know there is a debate on placement of the layers, but I found it curious that they wouldn't show the use of this type in material or is it still not the norm for stone installation?

Thanks again!
Barry

Good question. I would imagine that's because in the grand scheme of things, Ditra isn't all that popular a substrate, most likely because it's so new, relatively speaking. It IS gaining a strong following though. In fact, there are alot of Installers I know of who won't install tile over anything else but, no matter if the substrate is slab or woodframe. It's that good, and that easy to work with. I think the reason it's so slow to come around is that this trade is basically one of old dogs (myself included), and it takes a while for some to come around, if at all, especially when you start talking about sticking tile to..... PLASTIC??? I think sooner or later you're going to see more and more companies showing their products being used with Ditra. Give em time. :-)
