Sun Touch Electric Mats

Does anyone have the Sun Touch Electric Mats installed in their bathroom? I see they sell them at Home Depot and am wondering about performance. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have Sun Touch and really like it. It is on a timer, so it is always toasty warm when we get up in the morning, and when we go to bed. Since we have Durango travertine, it can be cold in the Northeast winters! I set it to vacation mode for the summer....easy!

linda-z Thanks. I will probably go with the Sun Touch. I am in the Northeast as well and know all too well about cold floors. Is the timer a Sun Touch product or something you added separately? Thanks again. Jackie

Jackie, the timer came with the mats. Enjoy!

One thing to be careful about with reference to buying the mats at Home Depot. A good friend of mine who is a tile contractor (and from time to time posts here) by the name of Bud Cline-- Suntouch is all he uses. It just so happens we have a thread going in another forum about this with a company rep, and the complaints he (Bud) has about HD giving his customers misinformation, and just not knowing the product are about run of the mill for HD. If you're going to get this system thru them, know the product well before you get there. Here's the thread I spoke of. Read reply 9:

It's supposed to be easier to tile over.

bill vincent - Thanks so much for the link. My attitude about buying anything at Home Depot is to know exactly what I want so I do not have to rely on them for any information. Just need them to get the product. I will read up on Sun Touch as much as possible. Thanks again. I see your replies to many posters and you are always so helpful. Jackie

Hello Linda, jacki and other friend

I read all you posts and you all right this is amazing product.
I use it just for my bathroom and kitchen floor and IÂm very satisfied from this product,
the brand name that I use was 'Sun Touch' and it was very easy to install,
It was the first time for my tile installer but he did a great job it was easy.
I bought my at tiledepot among other stuff for my remolding.

    Kob.

aack, i'm freaking out. We were planning on using electric radiant mats in two bathrooms and our kitchen (with no supplemental heat source). The kitchen and one bathroom are fairly interior, but one of our bathrooms is a second floor extension over our first floor porch. Are we doomed by having made this decision to be cold in these rooms? Obviously, that's not what we want!

You might then want to think about space heaters. Electric radiant heat is not meant to be a primary heat source.
