Thanks Cynthia! I'm hoping for anodized aluminum clad on the outside and black on the inside - not a usual combination :). I am currently planning on painting the wood windows black on the inside but it is a big gamble and I don't want to ruin them so I'd love to learn from people's experience. I love the windows with the thinner frames - as in the attached photo from houzz, but have no idea where to get them, or what they are made of.

I went to a seminar there last year and was very impressed. Inline Fiberglass Ltd. at 30 Constellation Court, Etobicoke. Oops, we were talking about aluminum! Sorry! But fiberglass is much more energy efficient and these are beautiful. Hope this helps anyway. Not sure if they deal directly with the public, but you can find out. They have a showroom at the factory which you might be able to visit, but check first. I think it's time to break for dinner--my brain's not firing on all cylinders LOL

Thanks! I'll look into the them anyways! I'd love to use fiberglass if there are colour options. Not so keen on aluminum in this climate - if anybody has any insight into using aluminum in cold climates, it would be appreciated.
