Elusive blue Thermador range knobs?

I would really, really like to see the optional blue knobs in person, without having to buy a full set at @ $200. Trying to get a real sense of the color/tone, which is pretty impossible from photos.

Probably unlikely, but is there anyone reading who knows anyplace in the SF Bay area with any blue-knobbed Thermador on display, or with the knobs in stock to see separately? I asked at Purcell Murray, which seemed the obvious place, but they said they don't have any.

Alternately, maybe someone knows where I could buy a single knob, or a cheap used set?

Thanks...

Thanks in advance.

I was under the impression that they were discontinued. Tried to find them for our stove about 2 years ago and had no luck. So unless they are making them again, I guess try e-bay.

They are definitely available, listed as accessories for both Pro Grand (Part #KNOBBLUG) and Pro Harmony / Rangetops (Part#KNOBBLUHC). Hitting up google shopping shows a number of vendors, with prices starting at $179. I have no problem paying that much for them if I really want them, my concern is getting them and then hating the actual color/tone. May have to do it, then return if I do...

So if you still want them, they are out there. If you do buy them, post us a pic, please?

ps - have actually been monitoring ebay, and craigslist, with no luck so far.

    Hi,

I'm thinking about either a Thermador or Monogram range top. They are both 18k BTUs.

How do you guys like your thermadors? Is the xtra low reliable? How about overall use?

I don't actually own one yet...have some concerns about reliability myself, but the bottom line for now is my wife loves the way Thermador looks, and I can't convince her to love any of the other options. I did eventually decide, however, that the clicking xtralow burners are really a nonissue...the "regular" simmer on the burners is well lower than anything I have now, so I doubt I will use the xtralow that often in real life.

You might be interested to know that I was also told at Purcell Murray that they are making changes to the Pro Grands very soon, details to be announced but apparently including at least one 22k burner...so if that is interesting, and you can hold off decisions, you might want to wait.

We've had the Theramador 36" 4 burner + electric griddle for about 2 years and like it very much. We have had no problems with it so far. We hardly ever use the oven since we have an electric wall oven, but use the burners and griddle regularly. The griddle is very easy to use and cleaning it isn't half the pain in the ass I thought it was going to be. The X-Lo burner works fine. It does click every so often because it turns off and on, but it seems reliable. We haven't used it that much because it is so lo. I guess you could use it for melting chocolate or something...

Although this is an old thread, I had to put in my two cents! I've had a 48" dual fuel Thermador oven for roughly ten years, and I absolutely love it. As a former restaurant professional, I took buying an oven very seriously, and deliberated over Thermador and Viking models before deciding on this one. I've never regretted it. (I'd like to find the blue knobs too, by the way, to match my blue kitchen, but always hesitate at the price.) We have the grill top with six burners, and we do use the grill occasionally. It's not too difficult to clean, and does work nicely. (I'm not sure if the grill is offered as an option anymore.) I wish we'd bought the griddle top to go with it--I'd still like to get that one day. I wanted to mention the extra low burners that some seem to have questions about. Believe me, they are the best for simmering a soup or sauce for a long time, and I absolutely LOVE them for cooking rice--it turns out perfectly every time! (Bring water to boil, toss in rice, bring to boil again, top with a lid, turn burner to extra low, and wait 20 minutes.) I'd like to mention, too, that our oven has been super reliable. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. Hope this helps someone "on the fence!"

This is an old thread but you might still be checking it out. I have the pro thermador with the blue knobs. I've had my stove for about eight years and I love it. The blue is exactly the color it looks like in the pictures if you google or bing blue knobs thermador (at least on my Mac computer screen). I would call it a very pure blue-not navy or with any greenish hues. I was also given a set of black knobs when i bought my range but I never changed out the blue. It's a great color-maybe delft blue would be a good description like those spode type english plates and kitchen molds.

in case anyone is still interested in this, it's worth noting that the knobs are not that elusive -- they just appear to be. the thermador e-store has many versions listed, although some are out of stock. talking to the sales rep is confusing; he told me that the ones avail would not fit my range. it turns out they fit perfectly. i think they make the range look even nicer and i would recommend them to anyone.

Akgid....please post a picture of your range with the blue knobs. Thanks!

johnsoro25......The blue knobs look beautiful!!! It enhances the beauty of the range. Nice!!!

here you go! we love them. and to be more clear -- while the sales rep (who was trying to be helpful) said that only the PNKNOBLU would work, and it is not available direct from Thermador or at any distributors, the PAKNOBLUNH, which is readily available, and cheaper, work perfectly. It seemed to me that there couldn't be that much variation in the construction or size of knobs for the complete line of ranges and cooktops.

@johnsoro25 I have the same range and would like to know which model number you purchased so I get all the right knobs. Some of the kits have the temps on the face of the knob and that won't work for our range.

Omfa- the appliance store ordered the knobs for me to coordinate with the range. I just saw online at Thermador.com that they have a set in the accessories tab with the range- perhaps that could help? Good luck!

I have a 36" ProHarmony Thermador dual-fuel and have the knobs. I've just not installed them, yet due to being worn out from my renovation! They look nice. I'll get to it.

Just bought a new 30" Thermador Pro Harmony dual fuel as part of a complete kitchen renovation. It, along with the free dishwasher were delivered today and will be installed on Monday. I too wanted the blue knobs and was distressed that I had to buy 16 to get the ones I need. They told me today that if I ordered them on their web site using the model number PAKNOBLUNH I could get them for $170 instead of $229 that is advertised. My wife loves to accessorize with blue so I will probably buy the set just to get the ones we need.

We had to do the same - quite obnoxious but they are awesome

I wish I saw this years ago? I have a 48" Thermador cooktop with beautiful blue knobs, but it just doesn't go with our kitchen, where most items are red! I have been trying to find a set of red knobs, and would gladly exchange them at no cost. I have 2 XLO, 2 LO, one grill and one griddle knobs. Please contact me if any red knobs are available.

There aren't red knobs for Thermador. There are stainless steel though.

While it is true that there are no red knobs for Thermador you might want to take a look at the red knobs on the Wolf gas ranges and see if they might fit your Thermador. I ended up buying the set of blue knobs for my 30" Thermador and had quite a few left over. Been planning to put them on Ebay and keep forgetting it. These messages have reminded me to do so.

@Suzuki Imac Is it possible to get an email and I can message you the details?

@sandy7717 do you still have the blue knobs? What range are they for? (Are they all the same... no idea).

Thermador does have the blue knobs but the longevity is not there. The blue seems to wear off according to friends and even the sales rep I spoke with. Not worth the money.

I had blue knobs for 3 years. Color had not worn off.

    @onmedic My apologies,

I just saw your response now. Is it possible to send me a private message?
