IÂve encountered a problem and would like to get opinions on solutions. When I figured the available width for the ironing board in my cabinet, I used the *outside* dimension instead of the *inside*, and OF COURSE the ironing board is too wide for the cabinet by about ½ inch!

The cabinet itÂs going in is a 15" wide high cabinet, cut down to 60" in height to fit on top of the counter. Here are the options IÂve come up with, each with drawbacks. I know a lot of this is up to me and which drawbacks I can live with. IÂd like to hear your thoughts, though! Thank you in advance.

1. Chuck the ironing board altogether. I was so excited for this thing, though! Plus I donÂt think I could return.

2. Move the ironing board to the drawer below (the drawer below is 24" wide). However, that 24" drawer is in a prime location in this bathroom, right next to my sink.

3. Buy a wider cabinet and re-do. I could buy a 24" cabinet and cut width down to 18" (this cabinet only comes in 24" and 15", but 24" is too wide). WeÂd have to re-do the chair rail tile that comes up to the side of the cabinet, plus I really donÂt look forward to have to making more modifications to a cabinet.

4. Cut ½ inch into the right side of the cabinet, basically recessing the right slide. We could pull the cabinet away from the wall and put a 2x4 on the outside of the cabinet behind the filler strip, to give the screws something to hold into and to help with cabinet stability. The drawer slide would come right up to the edge of the drawer front but as itÂs against a wall, I donÂt think it would be too noticeable. IÂm concerned about cabinet stability and aesthetics, though.
