Did you end up getting the Jen Air?

I just came across this post and wanted to reply for anyone else that is looking into the Jenn Air. I put the all gas 48" jenn air (not the current model but the previous one without the digital oven controls) in my previous home. It worked perfectly. It is also extremely easy to service as all the controls are analog. My service person loves it as well as the maintenance parts like the elements used to spark the oven flames are all standard and can use generics. In fact, my wife and I loved the range and 1100cfm matching hood so much we put the same models in our second home. Both ranges still work like a charm and the first one is over six years old.

As a side note, I try to avoid any appliances that have computer controls where possible. This is basically unavoidable for washers and dryers, but I am glad my Jenn Airs are all analog. Computer board literally burns out due to heat and the appliance is done. Analog controls for ranges are pretty standardized across most manufacturers and it is easy to fix the one small part that gets worn out versus paying $700+ for a new computer board and the labor to install it.

I wish I had a better experience to share. I was 'sold' on the Jenn-Air quality by a local major sales establishment. I paid the premium value for the 48" PRG4802P model in 2002. Since that time the broiler function has worked only several times before failing. The ignitor part has been replaced nine times and the broiler burner assembly thrice. Jenn-Air has replaced them half of the time and I have paid just shy of $3000 for the remaining work. Needless to say, if I had had to pay each time I would own a new unit. I certainly believe that the broiler function of this unit is a faulty design. I clearly know when the broiler has failed when the range sounds like a 747 during take-off. The ignitor at $200 and burner assembly at $800 will no longer be replaced in this appliance. At this time Jenn-Air is contemplating making a replacement offer that I will need to join in to make happen....assuming I 'blindly' make a poor decision. I would rather be a champion of items I purchase than issuing a buyer beware.

Just bought my third Jenn-Air PRG4810NP for another property. My last two have been great. Maintenance was a convection fan broke and needed replacement...let's see oh yeah a gas balancer thing in the back needed replacement as it kept the small oven from heating up. Oh yeah a couple of igniters were replaced (this is definitely a wear & tear part and how long they last is dependent on the quality/manufacturer as this igniter model is used in tons of ranges which is a good thing for future availability and costs). That's in about 10 years of service. Note that specialized replacement parts are starting to get hard to find/discontinued as I need an oven light switch and convection fan switch needs to be replaced on one of mine and I can't find the parts in stock anywhere. Worst case scenario is I find an electrician to wire one up for me.

I bought the PRG4810NP in 2010. luckily I bought it at a warehouse sale for about $4000. Replaced thermostat on small oven 5x under warranty. Gave up after a while and just accepted that its off by 25 degrees. Can’t get parts anymore. Replaced two valves in oven that I was lucky enough to find on eBay. Burners click all the time for no reason. after much consideration, just bought the new 48” Jenn Air RISE. Hope it goes better this time. ,

Lisa how do you like your Jenn Air Rise? Does it have a gas oven or dual fuel? I’m considering the 36” Rise, dual fuel.

Wendy, mine is all gas. I got a really good deal on it because it has a small scratch on it. Paid $6500 for it. Dual fuel would be awesome but I am a die hard bargain hunter. I’ve been very happy with it so far. It preheats faster than the old one. Love the changes to the cooktop, grates and burners. The 20,000 BTU burners are awesome. I havent used the griddle much but I expected that and I’m guessing the 36” doesn’t come with a grill or griddle which is no great loss. It’s been installed for about 2 months and I have only good things to say. Good luck!

HELP! Looking for someone who has disassembled one of these to replace the burner igniter. Can anyone give me any pointers? I have had residential and professional range technicians out 4 different times, and all of them just look at it and scratch their head. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Mine is 13 years old.

NOTHING BUT TROUBLE: I bought a new one...Had it for 4 weeks & they had to replace it. The 2nd one I have had in service now for less than 2 months. Altogether I have had the service team out 6 times all total. 6 times. The unit was professionally installed. The LP Gas conversion was the first issue they said as it didn't work at all correctly. Something wrong with the unit that they simply couldn't fix. Now the Oven doesn't work right and the burners still do not work evenly with "popping" noises and changes in gas flame heights without touching any control buttons. Looks Great! Pretty Stove. But useless if you can't use it - especially for $10k. I bought ours from Fergussons in Nashville TN and their people are unable to do anything - bad service team as their technicians actually use youtube to work on the unit.....that has to be a bad issue. (NOTE: the JennAir matching dishwasher dumps water all over my new floors and cabinets. We had a full kitchen renovation) To say we are unhappy with the product is an understatement and yet it seems we are stuck with it thus far until the next steps whatever they are. Suggesion is IF you buy one....don't pay for it in full and "maybe - just maybe" you'll get better service? UNIT:

Need backguard/backsplash for Jenn-air prg4810np! I got a great deal on this range but it didn't come with the back island trim or backguard piece. I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone have an idea where to source one or perhaps hav an extra? Thanks
