Of course it has some value! But it's not an old piece of cranberry. Most likely it's flashed or painted rather than the color being in the glass as in old cranberry. Can you see if the clear rim is a separate piece that has been applied to the glass? Note the piece in the picture....the clear handle is clearly a separate piece of glass that has been fused to the colored piece.

the design on mine is a little different---I love the color and have a window full ---some good cranberry glass and some just that color.

Cranberry glass describes glass that has gold salts in it to aquire that color...it's in the mix.
There have been other rosey colored glasses over the years and the old glass has been reproduced...notably by Fenton.
Almost none of the glass of the era you are talking about would have been marked. Off the top of my head, the only glass ware that would have been marked would be Heisey, Hawkes, Orrefors, Baccarat and a few others. And, your glass is certainly none of those.
It's not a repro, because that form was not made in the old cranberry. It's a "gift shop" piece of the 1960's. Might have cost $6 to $10 then and in a nice shop, might have a $25 price tag or might be a lot less at a yard sale.
I guess it could be called "cranberry glass" because of the color, but it is not the old valuable cranberry nor one of the new fine repros by Fenton. One of the dead give aways on old cranberry glass is the weight and feel of the glass. When I first started going to auctions, those Fenton repros were beginning to show up and were worth very little at that time. A coupole of little old lady glass collectors gave me some very good instruction on telling the old and good from the new and cheap. For learning, there is nothing like seeing and feeling someone's personal collection and having her tell you what each piece is and how she knows that....as well as mistakes she has made and seeing the pieces that fooled her.

Hi Maryanne------I love this cranberry colored glass---I only have a couple "real" cranberry pieces which are made with the gold----most of my pieces are just the colored glass but I do love that color.

hi zeffy. i agree, the color is very pretty. i just can't start another collection LOL. i do have a good bit of blue glass though. this one, i wasn't looking to get rid of/sell, i was just curious about it. it is a really pretty piece and looks lovely in one of my many curio cabinets.

Maryanne---great minds think alike---I also have a lot of cobalt blue glass in my kitchen and family room windows---and Blue willow dishes- and then the collection of things with roses------I really do have too much STUFF but I love it all---LOL

Top picture doesn't look like cranberry....doesn't even look translucent....but when you light it wow!!
