STICKLEY End Table? Nightstand? Library Table

Hi all :)

I picked up the Stickley table the other day.

I cannot find any info about it. I've searched through several Stickley websites, antique sites, etc. I can't find this same table anywhere.

I'm not sure if it's an end table, Library table, Night stand, etc.

The number 417 appears on the bottom of the drawer.

I know it's from the L&JG Stickley 1926-1984 (Cherry Valley Line) because of the " Stickley fayetteville Syracuse" mark.

and the Stickley original authentic cherry valley label.

It has a missing pull knob on the drawer (but the existing one doesn't look original...I can see circular marks left by knobs that were once there).

Does anyone know of a really good Stickley website or other reference material that has endless pictures of Stickley tables, and perhaps appraisals for them?

thanks!

Shawn

That table looks like nothing "Stickley" i have ever seen.
And frankly, from what I can see of the sticker, it looks too perfect to be on a table with such obvious wear.
    It's a very nice table...but I sure doin't think it's stickley.
    Where did you get it?

I got it for free! Someone locally gave it away, didn't have the time and bother with refinishing it.

The L&JG Stickley Cherry Valley Line was made until 1984 apparently, so perhaps its a newer looking table.

Ya think it's a stickley drawer put in a non-stickley table? It seems amazing that it would fit like a glove so perfectly.

Maybe its a SUPER RARE Stickley that's worth 80 million Dollars!!!!!!! WOOHOO!! :) lol

LOL!!...I think it's a very nice table...but obviously worn, used, beaten around a bit....and that sticker in the drawer looks brand new...at least what I can see of it does. I think someone has printed a pile of Stickley stickers and put them into tables they wanted to sell. Where did your friend get the table?
What wood is the table? I can't see close enough to tell.
Also the fact that you couldn't find that table in the Stickley line tells us something.
Don't get me wrong...it's a great table, well worth stripping and finishing if you need a lamp table, but I don't think it's stickley.

See what I found....in this world of "make a buck at the customers' expense" you best be on your toes.

Here is a link that might be useful: Fake Stickley labels

I realize that there are fake stickers out there.

Perhaps my previous pictures didn't show adequately enough the stickers...they do not appear to be brand new. It looks like they've been there for awhile. Again..some of these Cherry Valley Line tables were manufactured in the early 80's.

but the odds that a person got 2 fake stickers..AND somehow was able to "brand" or burn the STICKLEY Fayettville Syracuse name into the drawer...

(trying to disguise it as a Stickley) ONLY to give it away for free...is impossible :)

I would venture to bet that at least the drawer is stickley.

    :)

I would say the person your friend got it from was the one who was spoofing....
The stickers look real as does the wood burned stamp....but those things would be no good if they didn't look real.
BUT...the fact remains that it doesn't look like stickley in any way and you can't find it in any book of Stickley furniture.
I don't know....just basing an opinion on what I can see from your pictures.
BUT...that doesn't change the fact that it's a nice table and the price was right!

    Hi Linda!! :)

My internet detective skills finally paid off! (well maybe)

I found a reference to my table!!

    SEE LINK HERE--> STICKLEY TABLE

It's the exact same table yippie!
at least I found a reference to it, I still dont know the actual "number" of the table (it's designation)

    But I found a nice clue :)

Sure looks like the same table to me!! Congratulations!!
Now email that seller and see if you can pick his brain....and find out where you can get another drop handle.
    Linda C

Yep it needs a drop handle, and the little center wood piece (there's a piece that fits into the center front of the drawer) which is missing.

Since my price for it was zero, I aint complaining :)

Well, if the following website is correct

    SEE HERE--> louisshanksfurniture

My table was made between 1935-1950. According to the design of the label on the table. The table on the EBAY auction is somewhat different, and has "1960" printed on it.

It's cool what you can find out on the internet with some minor researching.

    I can't find your table.....what page?
Everything I see is arts and crafts style, I don't see any Jacobean stuff. Is there another section?

    Hi Linda, sorry

page 7 of that link (louisshanksfurniture) just shows the different Stickley labels/stickers over the years. its the same image that I copied, pasted into the thumbnail picture link in my last entry above.

You're right, their website doesn't have my table in it, I just was happy that I found a reference for the label :)
