Coffee Anyone

Here's my DM Silver Service I polished after seeing Dreams. I made a little tablesetting with GGM, GM and DM pictures since I was using their dishes. I needed a change from the red and black. It won't be long and will need to do a Valentine's table. Always ready for help with any changes that you want to suggest.

Oooh pretty. I love the idea of putting the pictures of your DM, GM, and GM who once owned and loved the pieces on the table too. I really like how you put some stuff up on silver candlesticks. What are those objects? I see you have some sort of small clear round glass thingys at the top corners of the placemats. What are they? They add a pretty sparkle.

The only addition I would make would be to add coffee cups since coffee is such a strong theme here.

    Punk...another lovely table.
You never cease to amaze me with all the goodies you pull
    out from your hidden stash!
What a beautiful silver set and such a nice tribute using the photos. I love old family photos, and have them everywhere.. but never thought of this.
Also, your table looks so nice with all the silver and crystal accessories. You have so many nice and unusual candle holders (more hidden stash)..
Duckie mentioned using coffee cups..lol, I didn't even notice, but she's got a point! Sometimes we think of every detail, and leave out the most obvious..(me included).
My only suggestion, I would love to see everything on a white tablecloth, rather than the table w/placemats. I say this (jmo) because all your lovely things would stand out so much more..the silver set included..

I must say, though, your tables keep getting better and better, and I enjoy all of them.

I am at a friends for coffee and pulled this post up to show her and read Duckies post where she suggested "add coffee cups since coffee is such a strong theme here." We are laughing hysterically over NO CUPS. I have to head on to work but will tweak tonight and answer questions.

I should be crying that I forgot to change out my coffee mugs but it tickled me. Jane I will add a white tablecloth and thanks both for your comments.

You do have the most amazing stash of tablescape possibilities, Punk! This latest table is lovely!
Duckie has such a discerning eye. I always enjoy hearing her take on things, as most aren't ones I'd pick up on myself right away, but she does and they make good sense.
I also like Jane's idea for switching out the placemats for a tablecloth. Jane is a genious when it comes to setting beautiful tables and I know that your lovely crystal and silver will look even prettier that way.

Punk, knowing you, you are going to be chuckling all day thinking about the "no cups for the coffee tablescape". ;o)

Gosh, that is such a pretty silver service. It is so great that you have so many pretty items from your family. And how wonderful to think to include their pictures in your tablescape as a tribute.

I like Jane's idea about the tablecloth, that will be perfect with all the crystal and silver. I'm so glad you are enjoying doing this and getting to appreciate and play with all your treasures.

I'm just smiling! Sounds like something I would have done! That is a beautiful table setting!
    Thanks for posting.

How pretty! The silver set is just lovely!

    Pretty! Pretty! Pretty!
I do agree that you'll see such a big difference with a tablecloth taking away the darkness of the wood... and no cups *giggle* (sorry!).
I can't wait to see it "revamped".

What a beautiful table as well as a gorgeous collection of silver! It's wonderful to have things from Mom as well as two G'mas, and to put them to good use rather than setting in a box in the basement or garage~grrr! I have several pieces in my kitchen~I hung the largest silver tray above the cooktop, have cooking utincils in a silver pitcher, and have a small teapot that's been made into a lamp. I also made a paper towel holder out of of a candlestick.

I see you are using salts. I have several crystal sets also, and this Christmas year used slightly softened butter in a pastry bag and put a 'florette' of butter in each salt, at each place setting. It was the highlight of the meal, and was so simple. Since we've all cut down on using salt, I just knew there had to be another use. LOL

How pretty, and what a nice silver set. You do so many things so fast, it's no wonder you forget the cups. That table is just lovely. All your table settings are remarkable, keep up the good work.

This is such a beautiful setting. You have really done a wonderful job. I'd like to suggest that you could change this up a bit by using different pastel table cloths. Just image the table set exactly as you've done it (only with cups - lol) all set on a pale pink table cloth with matching napkins. Or pastel blue, or mint green. Even navy blue would look good. This sort of setting would go with nearly any color you wanted to pair it with. Just my idea.

Patty, your things sound really neat--when are you going to take the time to share some pics with us? Luvs

punk...oh, you really polished up that silver tea set & it looks wonderful! I am so-o-o-o tickled to see that you used framed pics of your family as part of the centerpc! AWESOME! (Personalized your tablescape...no other like it!) :-) All the pcs on the table look so interesting & I agree that a tablecloth would set them off spectacularly (is that a word?) Oh well, you know what I mean!!! TFS! Jeanne S.

Late night at the office so wasn't going to do anything besides check a few posts but then decided I didn't want anyone to think I was being lazy so.....

Loved reading all your posts and will try to get back and yak more another day. I would love to try a pastel TC & N but will have to do that after I go shopping and buy some. So I just used an off white for now and it does make a big difference. Put a picture of DGD in the background with her hat on for fun to go with GM & GGM.

Thanks everyone and I will try to get back but this is a very busy week for me so don't know how much free time I'll find. Punk

Wow Punk, what a difference a tablecloth makes!
I still can't get over all the beautiful things you have to 'play' with. And darling pix of DGD in the background.
    Wonderful addition to your setting.

Could you bottle up just a tiny bit of your energy and talent and ship to Phoenix. ASAP.

    hugs, Karen

Punk...you're going to burn yourself out. I can't believe you got home so late, and still felt you needed to fix your table. You are truly an amazing person..NO ONE would think you were lazy...'A Bit Crazy'...but Never lazy!! lol
    You know I'm just kidding.

I can't believe the difference in your table. The tablecloth just makes everying 'Stand Out' beautifully.
Now, I can see ALL your lovely Silver pieces and it just enhances all your pretty crystal things too.
I can see pastel for a Spring/Summer setting, (so you've got time) lol, but white is just so classic and it looks elegant.
I enjoyed seeing the 'Before & After'...I'm sorry you felt pressured to 'Get iT Done' though..but knowing you, you can now rest easy that you did it.
    TFS 'Punky' hehehe
By the way, I forgot to mention, I was so happy to see a picture of your DM, she looks so sweet and lovely and now I have her face in mind, when I see the cups you gave me that were hers.

What a difference brightening it up with the tablecloth made.
Now it's sparkly, filled with treasured momentos and perfect :).

The addition of the white tablecloth is amazing, Punk! It was beautiful before but is now breathtakingly lovely.
I have a question, though: what is the piece in the second photo you've just added? Is it a glass & silver candle holder? It's really pretty and very unusual.
