Superbowl

So I know that this isn't really a holiday, but I am planning on hosting a Superbowl party at my house this year.

Does anyone have ideas or pictures they'd like to share for decorations they use or may have used in the past?

Thanks in advance!

Leti

Use colors of the team you'll be rooting for??? I'm useless when it comes to parties involving sports. ;o)

Where's Old Algebra when we need her? Leti, she posted a darling tablescape and decorated her bar in a sports theme and shared her pictures on here. I'll have to see if I can find her post and bump it up for you to see. Maybe Karen saved it in the album???? Luvs

    Here I am!

I've been busy spending a lot of time on the Kitchen Forum. My hubby has given me permission to redo our 1970's itty-bitty kitchen and the project has taken on a life of its own. I do stop in from time-to-time to peek at everyone's creations. I'll be back as soon as we settle on a floor plan.

I found my old post. Letmeg, you just have to go to the page and then do a search with the word "football." Or better yet, scroll down and look at all the cool tables along the way.
Use the link to see my table. Then think about these ideas:

You should use the colors of your team (I know. I didn't). I like to post a menu for all to see at all my dinners and parties. Maybe put the menu on a poster that's the shape of a football. Or use the little footballs (party favors found at your local party store) to post the names of the snacks you have set out (Touchdown Tacos, First Down Fries, Defensive Line Dip, Wide Receiver Wings, Shotgun Shrimp, etc. ) Place them by each snack.

You can make a tablecloth on which to set your snacks. Use green fabric and draw on the 10 yard markers with a paint pen. Doesn't have to be hemmed. Just give it a good going over with the iron.

A like to make pennants to hang. Paper and string, that's all it takes. They're easy (cheap if you'd rather just buy them) and I think they add to the team feeling and provide a lot of color.

There was a cute and easy cupcake idea I saw on the internet. Makes for an easy dessert, as you don't have to do anything but set them out. And they serve as a decoration before they're eaten. Oh, I just googled the cupcake idea. There are several, but this is the one I saw originally. It's cute and EASY!

Can't think of anything else right now.

    Happy New Year to everyone.

Target Dollar Spot has football stuff right now. It would work for a Super Bowl party. I remember seeing a large football shaped plastic bowl, necklaces that looked like Mardi Gras beads with the addition of plastic footballs between the beads. They also have napkins, cups, plates, etc.

    Here's a neat centerpiece I found

Also, check your Dollar store for cheerleader pom poms, ours always has them in the toy section.

Our Dollar Tree had some basketball banks, maybe they have football ones, I didn't notice, since I wasn't looking for them.

How about a Super Bowl Meatloaf?

Football is in the air this season. Bring the fun of the sport to your dinner table  itÂs sure to be a touchdown with your Hungry Jack® Family!

    Football Cake - easy
Frost a sheet cake with green frosting. Use white decorating frosting to make yard lines. Add football figurines to the top.

DECORATING FOR YOUR SUPER BOWL PARTY
Decorate with the colors to match your families favorite team using plenty of balloons and streamers. Add posters to the door and walls.
Cover your party table with green butcher and use white paint, or adhesive tape to make yard lines. Place a a bottle of Gatorade or a referee whistle at each table place setting...The possibilities are endless!

Thanks to all for your replies and ideas.

oldalgebra - I really like your setting.

printersdevil - I am going to check the target out by me and the dollar stores as well.

yachter - thanks for all the ideas.

I definitely have something to work with. I have a few ceramic helmet plates I bought from Kirklands a few years back and a helmet chip and dip bowl. so I'll just add a few more things to what i have. I'm thinking of setting up more of a buffet type table as opposed to the table setting for people to eat at, since most people will want to be by the tv.

    Thanks for all your replies!!

I was in Kroger this afternoon and they had an entire table of fall football candies marked down. I bought several packages of football shaped chocolates covered in foil to look like a football. I don't know if we are doing anything for SB Sunday, but thought they would be nice on the coffee table.
