Beautiful! Your sink is stunning, and the glass tile on the wall is just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

awesome...love your colors. Envious that you are done and I am just starting!!

Truly lovely, like a luxury hotel.

What was the sourcing/brand on the blonde cherub? :-)

Perfection! I especially admire the little blond bathtub accessory!

I still dream of using those crushed glass tiles in our master bath. They didn't have them at the local tile store so the hunt continues!

Bathroom is beautiful, very nice details. Is there a shower area? Congrats!

    Beautiful bathroom!

You must love watching television, lol

Thank you for the nice comments :)
Comments...hummm, "blond cherub". Would that be the picture of the young lady in the red dress? That's our daughter (who's currently pregnant with grandbaby #2) :)
"blond bathtub accessory"? I'm guessing that's the wonderful back scrubber you're referring to? Bed, Bath and Beyond.
jellyben, I hope you find the tiles!
mdwstgrl, no shower. The 2nd bathroom has a shower and DH uses that bathroom.
mari, Actually I don't watch a lot of tv, but, I do like having it available if/when I do want to watch it :)

Monica, bathroom looks great. I think the blonde cherub is the beautiful baby taking a bath in that one shot. Assuming that's grandbaby #1??

Enjoy your bathroom and your grandbabies :)

OMGoodness! Some grammuffy I am! (lol) I forgot that I included the photo of Thatcher with the bath remodel photos. Yes, he'd grandbaby #1. Grandbaby #2 is due at the end of July :) Thanks for the compliment on our bathroom :) I'm thoroughly enjoying it :)

Not too shabby!! Tell your husband if he wants a job, I can start him at about 7.00 an hour. :-)

Great tip on the train rack. Did you get the chrome or the brass and are you happy with the quality? Thanks.

    Well it's 100% gorgeous and I'm 100% jealous.

WOW, It's beautiful. How long did it take? I'm looking at redoing our masterbath but first the kitchen gets a makeover.

    Barb

Bonnie, I got the chrome and yes, I'm happy with the quality. It's only been installed for about a month and a half and all it does is hang on the wall and hold fluffy towels (g)
Barb, it took over 8 months but that's not a good indicator of what it would really take if the bathroom was the only thing we did. We did (and are still doing) a half house renovation. Mostly DIY and on the weekends.
    Thanks!

I think that, after the picture of Thatcher, my favorite shot of all is the picture of Jasmine's control...gotta love the graphics depicting where the water will go when you press the buttons!

dori, there's been much talk and interest in the Washlet lately so I thought I'd include a picture of the controls :) If anyone wants to know "what all does it do" all they have to do is look at that picture...it's worth 1000 words ya know :)

    Wow, it is fabulous!!!
One question, how do you like the Panasonic Whisper Warm?
Is it the one with venting and heating??
Do you ever have both on at the same time?
Can you buy them at a big box store?
Thanks for your time. You've given great info over the years, I spent a lot of time on the Kitchen forum several years ago and you helped a lot.

elenkao, Thanks SO much for your compliment on my bathroom and the Kitchen Forum. It's nice of your to remember :) I don't feel as confident as I did back then and usually end up deleting what "help" I try to offer thinking "what do I know?" (lol)
I like the Panasonic fan very much! I really don't have anything to compare it to. Our last fan (26 years old) was small, loud and inefficient. Yes, it does heating and venting. You can't effectively use both at the same time, not on any vent/heater. My bathroom is 10x11. With the door closed, the heater heats the room nicely. I didn't realize how well the vent worked till I forgot to turn it on one night before using my air jetted tub. MAN! You could not see in there after awhile because of all the steam. It keeps the air totally clear. My mirror fogs and condensation forms on the tile floor but the air is clear. As far as I know (and I've looked) no, you can't buy them at Lowes or HD.

    Monica,

Hadn't seen your finished bathroom because I hadn't been on the forum lately. It's absolutely loverly! Not sure what I like best, there's so much to admire.

Oh, I've got it! The Washlet diagram takes the cake! I laughed out loud at the "I don't get the Washlet" thread when I first read it. I haven't kept up with it lately, but it seems to still be going strong.

Two questions; it appears that the current trend (or most current to me) is to have your bathroom vanity on legs so that it looks like a furniture piece. Did you give your design to a custom cabinetmaker? What can one expect to pay in labor for a custom vanity in Texas?

I am in Houston and have not seen the Panasonic Whisper Warm at Lowe's or HD, either. Where did you get yours and what price range is it? Is it vented through the roof? That's 4 questions, isn't it? :)

Your bath is an amazing inspiration to us all. My project has been on hold for about 4 years and I have decided to finish it, with the help of a (second) good contractor. I am inundated with getting information on Kerdi, vent fans, heated floors, etc. I feel as though I am running to stay ahead of him, so that we can finish this in one month instead of 8. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Anne

Hi Anne. Thank you for your "loverly" comment :)) I'm absolutely thrilled with the way it turned out :) The only thing I didn't get that I really REALLY wanted was the heated floors. DH planted his foot firmly on that issue citing that he's seen too many tile guys and electricians having problems with newly installed units :( The Washlet control...well, as much "interest" as it (Washlet) has generated lately, I thought someone would be interested in seeing the details :)
Furniture looking vanities and kitchen islands and even the perimeter cabs have been popular for quite awhile. I told my cabinetmaker I was interested in a furniture style vanity and some of the other features I wanted. He drew up a plan and I approved it. The vanity and wall cab above the toilet were $1100 (unstained and without hardware).
I purchased the Panasonic WW at Wave Plumbing. I *think* the price was $170 free shipping and no tax. Delivery was lightning fast and customer service was excellent. I have an "A" list for on-line companies I used during this remodel and they're on it :) Union Lighting Is NOT on it! Man, what RUDE jerks!
I hope I answered all your questions. If you have more, I'll do my best to answer them. I don't know how much you have to do, but one month is a lofty goal. Good luck and thanks again :))

Another great tile job from you guys! The whole thing is beautiful and I love the dark vanity and the cabinet, etc.

    Monica,

Thanks for the prompt reply, and I will try Wave Plumbing. After I posted last evening I went on the net and found a place or two. I found a Vent/Heater for $180, but Vent/Heat/Light was around $230.00. You must have the Vent/Heater product for about $170.

Thanks also for the ballpark on the custom cabinet-making. I understand your chagrin over the heated floors. I am currently battling that decision and I am gun-shy because of Flyleft's and Codnuggets' recent problems. I was also strongly considering the Thermasoft product because, with the current sale, it was coming in at about half price of SunTouch. Always a decision!

And I, too, am laughing out loud at a 1-month projection. However, I am pretty close to the end, though (after a nearly 4-year lay-off in the project's completion). However, 4 years ago, I didn't know about heated floors, Kerdi showers, heated towel racks, and I thought the Nutone vent was as good as the Panasonic. I've got all you "loverly" new friends on this forum to thank for that!

So how many more months do you think I should add to my projection, Grammuffy? :)) I'm also concerned about not driving my "good-guy" contractor and his workers to drink with all my "new-fangled ideas" about Kerdi and stuff. No contractor in sunny, humid Houston ever even heard of heated floors! I would just like the luxury of keeping my little footsies nice and toasty on the 3 days of winter we have each year. I think they're coming up in March. :)

    Thank you Red :)

mommielady, yes, I have the heat/vent (no light). I intended to get the night light but for some reason didn't. Can't remember why but someone convinced me I didn't need it or want it (lol) Seems like it was Bill at Wave Plumbing. I'm glad now that I didn't. Not only do I have clock (it doubles as a night light) that plugs directly into an outlet, I have a dimmable wall sconce in that potty area that works as a night light if I want.
Ya gotta watch this forum! Count on doubling your budget (again). How did we ever do anything "right" without the internet (lol).
I know at least one contractor (tile contractor) in Houston that's heard of heated floors...John Bridge. If you haven't been to his website yet, you should check it out. Below is a link to the forum. I'm about 220 miles due north of you in north east Texas. It's a bit colder here in the winter than in Houston and I really wanted those heated floors. As it turns out, I really NEEDED those heated floors. My tile gets very wet (from the steam) when I'm using the tub's air jets. They'd dry much faster if the floors were heated.

    monica, ...er Grammuffy

Just went briefly to the John Bridge Forum and it appears to be another powerful tool to assist in a remodel. Thanks so much for the link.

You probably did not get the Heat/Vent/Night Light unit because the Night Light only comes configured with the Heat/Vent/Light/Night Light product, for approximately $55 more. So if you had other lighting in the room, you probably did not need light in your vent fan, and saved yourself some $$$$.

Your plug-in night light is really neat! I went to a Panasonic dealer today, and saw why some think the WW is large. It is pretty quiet, but when I get home, I will try my Nutone (in another bath) to see if one blows warmer heat than the other. BTW. I am so impressed that you have a potty seat that opens and closes by itself, AND a dimmable wall sconce in the potty, as well! :)

Yes, I must admit my wallet is quite sad as a result of this forum. I am really thinking of getting the warm floors, for the reasons you mentioned and others; I just don't know which brand yet. I can't let my girls know how much time I spend on the forum, or they will probably put me on punishment.

mommie, potty seat doesn't open and close by it's self. There's just somethings I'm willing to do manually :) It is a soft close lid tho and the seat does a number of useful things (g) Having a (dimmable) wall sconce over the potty was the idea of a dear GW friend, Clare de Luna. THANK YOU CdeL :)
Donna, David is able to do most of the work himself. He's quite the DIYer :) and saves us thousands! That's why we are able to make these nice upgrades.

    monica,

I've been meaning to tell you. All this time, I was thinking that "the Lady in Red" in your picture posts was You, not your daughter. I thought, "wow... she has really kept herself up, through these stressful rebuilds." :))

LOL, and what a YOUNG grammuffy I am too...I wish!
Sorry I got your name wrong on the forum the other day. I was
replying, and was in too much of a hurry to find your given name
but thought I remembered it. Are you sure your name isn't Donna?
    Sorry about that.

    monica,

Whenever a new question or crisis arises in this remodel, I rush to this computer like a drug-crazed crack fiend, or something like that. Do you think that I have time to notice if someone misquotes my NAME?? Thanks for mentioning it, but I never even noticed if you did.

But for the record, it's Anne. YOUR other name, however, is not very likely to be forgotten. How many Grammuffy's can there be??

All too familiar that the drug-crazed crack fiend feeling. Think I'm still feeling the residual effects :o I promise to remember your name :)
Grammuffy...according to the all knowing Google, I'm the only one (lol)
