I went to google.com under "images" and found tons of pictures of apothecary jars with soap, flowers, nuts, pretzels, Valentine candy heats, jewelry, baked goods, shells, buttons, etc.

I have 3 jars and am somewhat in between Christmas and a winter theme with them. I can't give up the Christmas season, I guess! That, plus it's frigid and snowing here in New England.

Bonnie, I'm having trouble giving up the Christmas season too. Tho for opposite weather reasons. Its normally mid 60s this time of year in Phoenix, which is my favorite temps with all the warm sun. But now its hit 80 and supposed to be 82 tomorrow! Jeeez, doesn't Mother Nature know its the end of Jan. here??? Tho the weather guy promised temps back down toward "normal" end of week. Personally, I've discovered that NORMAL for Phoenix is to constantly break weather records year-round.

Your jar is pretty. I'll have to look at the photos on google and also flickr, since I love browsing decor stuff as you all know.

Well you all have better luck finding photos on google than I do. All I ever get are the adds... do you wanna buy.!!!
I have sand and seashells that I usually put in the old cookie jar I have but It's too early for that. Want to save it for summer or I will be bored with it too soon. I have put the small one on my mantel it is empty for now but sparkles in the sun.

Bonnieann, you have a gorgeous fireplace, so nice and big. Love your idea of the silver pinecones too.

Bright, I haven't taken any pics, but when I put Christmas things away, I left some white ornaments with gold trims out for my jar. I put a plate with white roses on an easel next to it and used a white candle with a white rose candle ring on the buffet with it--sort of thought it was "wintery" looking for now.

I'd think some of the bushes that have the little berries on them would look good in a jar, so would some Epsom salt or even regular salt to look like snow and then a cute little snowman. I like to tie a ribbon on the lid too.

Swest had some good ideas too. I've not done the google search either, but will have to try it. I think you can do searches on Snapfish or Photobucket for ideas too.

    Have fun with it. Luvs

These are mine. I had some fuzzy snowflakes in them too, but I guess I must have put them away with the Christmas stuff. I got the three of these over a period of about 6 weeks and used them for the first time during Christmas. Now I've got to keep coming up with display ideas as I don't know where I'm going to store them!
Bonnie, I like the silver pine cones too. I'm definitely using that idea.

There are plenty of jars on Google. Just go to the very uppermost left corner after googling Apothecary Jars and click on images.

OA, it's good to see you posting again. I really like your jars. Your little dish is so cute--did you make it? And if so can you share your how to instructions? Thanks in advance. Luvs

    Luvs,
Didn't make the dish. I wouldn't even attempt it. I've got no talent in that area!
Got it on eBay last year. Cute, huh?!
The tall apothecary was an eBay purchase too. But I think I got the best deal at our new Trading Company. The big squatty one is from there. Their prices were pretty good on apothecary jars, considering they're high on so many things.

OA I totally love your jars and how you displayed them. Please post more photos when you change the contents.

I don't have a one, but it's always fun to see what everyone else is doing.

Just like the stacked plates, these jars are great fun to decorate for all the holidays or seasons.
When I am looking for pictures on google, I type in for example....apothecary jar photos. And then the the link at top that comes up to say images. That way you get nothing but pictures of whatever you want to look at.

I found this from a search. One of our own from 2007 Easter posts (Tam). You may have to scroll down.

In Feb. country home mag there is a pic of one made into a terrarium.

Hi Leveta, I saw that mag too. They looked really pretty. Do you remember when we were all making terrariums? I like being able to change out the contents of my jar for the different holidays or seasons. Luvs
