Chicken Egg Platter

Ok, I know I am not a tablescape(r)! But I am a limited "dish addict!" So I am after-Christmas shopping Mon. for bargains (with another dish addict friend) & I'm drawn to the "dishes" at TJMaxx...found a chicken & egg platter (Tabletops) on clearance for $5.99. Well, a trip to Pier I for reduced Christmas ornies & I find myself in the dish section & buy an additional 3 luncheon plates (8-l/2") reduced to 96 cts. each!!! I already bought 1 of this pattern before the holidays & used it for countertop candle decor:

Ok, I'm not looking for more stuff to do...but....I bring up a load of laundry & am shaking out this handmade table runner (that I use on the porch)...and there sits the ck & egg platter...hmmmm, a soft-aqua/green color would look pretty nice with that platter! (thinking ahead to Easter). And I just got some paper napkins (probably a no-no for some of you...but I bought them on clearance for an origami project...and then there's that 1 cup that I just rec'd from my GJer Secret Santa....so, anyway, here's the results: (remember I am not a tablescape(r)!

Closeup of cup (Limited edition 1996 on back) with new Pier I plates ... nice size for a sandwich & chips:

And a center view of my dining table...knowing this is very sparse, but I certainly had fun...& will use this as a beginning for an Easter tablescape!:

Thanks for looking! Jeanne S.

Bummer! Now I'm going to have to be on the look-out for more of those cups! (Tom & Jerry, I believe someone said they are called).

    Jeanne...
    This is so 'Refreshing'!
With all the after Christmas blahs now...it was nice to see your Chicken & Egg platter..great buy and cute too.
Also, I love that cup! 'Tom & Jerry'... Never seen anything like it and it has such a nice vintage look to it. It certainly goes well with your Pier 1 plate (another great buy) and the color of the runner and napkin you chose is a perfect choice! Never too early to scout out stuff for Easter!! lol
    Great job...
This was fun to look at.

Jeanne, I love your goodies! The cup is too cute and I hope you find more of them. The napkins are perfect with it. Your hen and egg platter will be great for Easter!

Jeanne, I've not seen a chicken and egg platter like that--it is really neat. Will be great for easter eggs or some yummy deviled eggs as well. What a neat gift that cup was--can't help but smile just looking at it! You have a great start on a Spring/Easter table, and I know you will be on the lookout for more things to add between now and then. Oh, and what a fantastic price on the plates--I never see bargains like that!

    Jeanne,

This is so great!!! Now that your hooked it will only get better.LOL We all have to start somewhere and I'm so happy your ready to move forward.

Is your candle in the jar or behind it? Nice setting. That cup is wonderful and your hen is perfect for your Easter setting. Can hardly wait to see how you fill it in.

Jeanne, that is the cutest chicken and egg platter and will be great anytime, but especially Easter. The plates look good with your SS cup. I see those cups quite often, they were promotional cups for Bailey's Irish Creme, I have always loved them, but haven't gotten started on them.(yet).

Thanks, ladies. I also do think the deviled egg platter is very cute and versatile..am looking forward to using it...now for storage (ugh).

punk...the candle is a jar candle in this old square jar (from my GM)...I put those "liquid marbles" from the dollar store...looks pretty cool...my friend found them & we were motivated from those altar candle projects on this forum. When the marbles shrink abit, you just throw them in water & they puff back up...I haven't done that to this candle jar.

frou...thanks for the Bailey info...I've been ckg. e-bay & such..and couldn't find anything Tom & Jerry like that...did notice the Bailey's had the word "Bailey" written as an eyebrow...so now will keep a lookout at GW & TS's.

Enjoy looking at all of your postings, ladies! Thanks! Jeanne S.

Thanks Jeanne, that reminds me I have a vase of DGM I need to locate now that I've started doing tablescapes. I've never heard of liquid marbles but you know I will try to find some. I don't remember this on this forum but somedays I'm so busy it's hard to find time to be here much.
