Coffee maker that doesn't drip!!!!

I have had several gevalia coffee makers and they seem to drip when you pour the water in and when you pour the coffee. I am tired of wiping up coffee and water on my granite. I have tried a couple of cheap coffee makers and I get the same. I went to a kitchen store the other day and they demonstrated pouring water from several different kinds and $$$$$. The bunn pot had a wider spout and it didn't seem to drip like some of the others.(always seemed at the end of pouring.

Anyone else have this experience? I really think pretty much all coffee makers brew coffee the same so I just want a pot that doesn't drip. And if it happens to brew good coffee thats a bonus. Around $100.00 Thanks.

My Capresso also drips, but I've found that it doesn't drip if I use my thumb to lift the lid a little as I pour. I figure this has something to do with the lid interacting with the surface tension of the coffee. Anyhow, if you haven't tried this, see if it works.

We have the same problem with our Krups espresso/coffee maker but we found the same thing overlyoptimistic has: we just have to remember to lift the lid of the carafe a little while with a thumb pouring. Seems to do the trick!

I've had the same problem, especially with my 10 cup Krups - it didn't just drip, it ran onto the counter or table when I poured. If I poured really slowly or took the top off, it did OK. Now I have a 4 cup Mr. Coffee, and it has never dripped. The carafe seems to be much better designed. And the coffee is hot, not just really warm.

I've had the Cuisinart 12 cup Brew Center (DCC 1200C) for about 3 weeks and love it. It doesn't drip when pouring at all and it doesn't drip after it's done brewing. It makes legitimately hot coffee as opposed to what I used to think was hot with my Hamilton Beach thermal carafe.

One complaint: when you open the top to pour in the water and / or empty the grinds a bit of the condensation from the previous brew collected on the inside of the lid will run down the back of the coffee maker. I just give it a quick wipe and that's it.

Very happy with the coffee maker and used price matching for the first time in my life to save $35 at the store of my choice.

I have the Cuisinart Thermal Grind & Brew, and although the grinding function is totally worthless, the coffee maker is fine. Once I accepted the fact that I needed to use pre-ground coffee, I grew to like the coffee maker. And I haven't had any drip problems (unless I did it because I was careless or rushing!).

keitel - I have that Cuisinart coffee maker too and just love it. One thing I've found is that if you just open the lid part-way and let it drip for a bit you don't get as many drips down the back.

Hey, I just figured that out too! Now, I have no complaints whatsoever. It's a fantastic coffee maker.

I just gave up my Cuisinart - well, I still jhave it, but opted for a single cup brewer since I was always burning coffee (I'm the only one). I have to say though that I didn't have any problems at all, except the condensation problem. I had a Black & Decker under cab that I never installed. I was spoiled by the fact that you could carry the water reservoir to the sink rather than bringing the water to the pot itself. I have that with the Keurig. Other than that and the condensation issue, the Cuisinart was great.

I LOVE my cuisinart DCC1200. No drips, adjustable warming plate. It's the best coffe machine I ever bought.

Here is a link that might be useful: cuisinart

    Re the cuisinart:

I just figured out last night that I could fill the coffee resevoir with water and use that to fill the brewer. After all, I already have it at the sink to rinse out. Worked very well. (You ever notice there's a pour spout?)

Also, I'm the only coffee drinker in the house as well. What I do is adjust the hold / heat time so my coffee never burns. The enclosure keeps it hot even after I've turned the warmer off.

I can only say that my life is substantially better now that I have the Capresso coffee maker. It brews at exactly the right temperature, and drops the coffee down into a vacuum sealed thermal carafe which keeps it warm for hours. The pot never drips

dd70, That is the same cuisinart I have been looking at.
What do you mean by the coffee reservoir to fill the brewer? My coffee maker is in an appliance garage so I open the doors and bring the coffee maker forward to the edge and fill my glass pot with water at my sink and then open the top of the coffee maker and fill it with water in an opening next to the coffee filter. Are you saying you do not use the pot to fill the machine? Do I sound confused????

Those with plastic rims on the carafe ususally do not drop.

I just bought a Black and Decker DCM2500 for the specific reason that it does not drip. We left the old one in our condo and put the new one in our newly completed kitchen.

    No drops.
