Good timing! I was just coming back here to check ;-)

My 'baseboard' is made from a part of a 9x12 tile (about 5x9) with a 'cigar rail' on top. Our cigars and chair rails were 9" long, so we used the 9" dimension, and sized the portion 5" part according to what looked best and gave us the correct overall wainscot height.

In the other bath we just finished, we used a regular bullnose tile in our trim color set forward to where it overlapped the wall tile a bit. I'll try to explain that better! The bullnose was 5x10, and the field tiles were 6x6's set on the diagonal. We used an additional thin (1/4") layer of concrete board at the bottom of our wall, then set the field tile. We then set the bullnose tiles against the thicker concrete board and just covering the bottom edge of the field tile. Because the top of the bullnose was nicely finished, it looks good.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I really appreciate it. Both ideas are very creative indeed. Do you have a picture of the other bath that you just completed? I would love to see the baseboard on that one as well. My bathroom project starts Monday. I'm reviewing my list to see what else I need to get between now and then. I'm sure I'll forget something.

Not a very good one, I'm afraid! But you can see it peeking out a bit in the corner under the sink. The baseboard is the same green as the trim tile, just in the shadows.

Thanks again so much. Do you know who makes the towel holder that is in your photo? I really like it because it is not just a ring. Thanks.

Thanks! I really like it too (and the matching TP holder)
It's Kohler Bancroft.
