One more . . . Bug Birthday!

My dad passed away on Dec. 28, and DS birthday was Dec. 31. We had to postpone the party and family get together due to the funeral. DS was a real trouper about it though!

We had already planned a bug birthday, and I started collecting bugs in the Fall.

I forgot to take a pic of the table with the spider candleholders that I'd picked up from Big Lots.

It was nice to brighten things up after all the Christmas decs and go for a more Springy look.

What a clever idea for a boy's birthday tablescape.
I really like the napkin rings and the lantern.
So sorry about your Dad. I have a feeling he liked the table setting as well.

My condolences on the loss of your Dad.
Love your bug theme table. The cloth is some of my favorite springy colors and I love the little dragonfly napkin rings. Super cute.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad.

I do love the bug table! Those dragonfly napkin rings are terrific! That color mix of plaid tablecloth is perfect... it makes me think of "lightning bugs" for some reason. :)

Thanks, ya'll! Appreciate your sympathies. It was a terrible, unexpected, sudden bout of pneumonia that caused sepsis. So glad we have good Christmas memories.
DS loves bugs, so we bought several on clearance from gardening centers & at Halloween. More were placed around on the serving table, the other dinner table, and my cabinet.

I found those cute dragonfly napkin rings on Ebay! Love them! The lantern was a great buy at Ross. The other table had a lantern, too.

Don't know why I didn't get around to getting more pics. But like I mentioned, we're still out of sorts.

Cindy, it's great to have you back and this explains why we haven't been hearing from you. So sorry about your DD.

Love the idea of a bug table. Your bugs are great. I love bugs too. I put them in my large flower pots with frogs that say "No Bugs Allowed."

Love your dragon fly napkin rings. Nice lanterns too.

Hope things will continue to look up. Punk

I think your dragonfly napkin rings are great--good find. Yep, those boys do like bugs and critters, don't they? It was good that you were able to plan ahead and start collecting early. Hugs, Luvs

Hoping each day will get better for you all & that you will find comfort in good memories of your Dad. TFS your pics! Jeanne S.

Cindy, my sincere sympathy on the sudden loss of your DF.

I do know how boys love bugs. Mine used to bring me live ones, mostly because it freaked me out so much I expect! I'm a bit of a bug-a-phobe altho I think your dragonfly napkin rings are adorable. They are "nice" bugs! ;-) Live snails and caterpillars not so much! Ugh

I'm sure your buggy-spring-y table was a hit with your DS. Good idea to use a lantern on the table - I'll copy that idea - thanks.
