Layout help for small green master bathroom

Hi,

There are so many creative people on this forum and I'm hoping you can help me!

We live in a 1950's ranch. We have a small master bath (currently green!) that we are finally going to renovate after 11 years. It is a challenge which is why we have put it off for so long! I've attached some pictures and a current layout. It is about 8'1' x 6'2". It is currently a "Jack and Jill" with two doors, but we will get rid of the door by the sink. We will also get rid of the tub and want a shower with a frameless glass door. We want to increase the counter/cabinet space as much as we can. The area is small so we have to take into account the swing of the bathroom door and the swing of the shower door. Any layout ideas? We are open to moving anything to make the best design. The decor in the rest of the house is pretty traditional. Unfortunately we can't take any space from other rooms. Thanks in advance!

On Kohler's website they have a whole section of sample bathroom floorplans.

And there is a Virtual Bathroom Planner on their site too.

On a search engine try the terms Bathroom Floorplans and a lot of information comes up.

Here is a link that might be useful: Bathroom floorplans on Kohler site

Just to throw out an idea (not sure that it's a good one), what if you leave the shower in the current location, swap the toilet and door and run a nice long vanity along the wall where you're removing the door?

Following Pricklypearcactus' suggestion, if you put the toilet under the window, facing the tub, you can use a pocket door to enter the bathroom, which gives you more clearance for the shower door.

Thanks for the suggestions. I hate to lose the wall space in my bedroom from moving the door but the pocket door is probably the best solution. if I left the shower where it is, but added the linen closet space to it, would it be to long and skinny?

The linen closet will need to be a smidgen narrower than I drew it to allow for a light switch at the bathroom entry
