I found these pale green plates at Pfaltzgraff for 96 cents..Aurora is the name...the glasses at Lenox 2.48. the black basket at TJ's, 1.00, the fish ramekins, Target 1.49

The clear pitcher, nice and light, Pfaltz..2.96..

He is a "Lucky Gent" to wind up at your house!!!! Everything looks wonderful!
My asparagus is about 3" tall...looks like we'll have plenty to eat next week!! Yummmmmmm
Your new plates and glassware are really pretty too! I heard on the news last week that they are going to have a new outlet mall in the old Dallas Cowboy complex...we will have to meet up there!!

Girl, the luck of the Irish was with you!! What great deals. If we lived closer I would be on your doorstep every morning to go shopping with you. You definately find the deals.
I have a friend who is the same way. Years ago we went to the pottery outlet in Williamsburg and she spotted a reduced sign waaayyyyyyy up at the other end of the warehouse we were in. Don't ask me how. We got the prettiest china sets for about $20.00. I could have fallen over it and wouldn't have seen it!!
Those plates are beautiful. And the fish ramekins are so sweet!! In fact, everything is great.

Kathleen, I see you found some shamrock plates--those look really sweet. Those pear plates look so nice and soft, lots of options for placemat colors to go with them too. Congrats on winning that contest last year, I don't think you had shared that news with us on here. Lots of good bargains, but my favorite, of course, is the little wee lucky gent! So cute. ;o) Luvs

Kathleen, both of your St. Pat's tables from last year and this year look great. (congrats on winning a contest last year - that is special!) I love the shamrock plates and napkin holders and they go so well with the green glasses. Your wee lucky gent is adorable! You sure do well when you go shopping...those pale green plates are terrific. Do you usually get settings for two when you pick up bargains like that? Or did you just get one for "display" purposes?
And as always, I wish I was coming to your house for the dinner...looks super delicious!

DD, I always get at least 2. We have dinner every night, and I use them. I don't set the table just for a pic, too much work. We sit down and enjoy them.
I haven't done my St Pat's table for this year..MONDAY..

Luvs, the shamrocks were 2 left from a whole set son was given. Only a few pieces survive..so I took 2 plates..

The green set I got 4 dinners and 4 salads.
I used to buy only for 12!! But I don't have 12 every night, so I cut back..

Prosp, I liked the glasses too..Lenox had a sale. I got 4 stems in that color too...

The little Irish guy is very cute..I got my gdau a girl with apron full of shamrocks...her bday is next week..Pic is blurry though...

Oh this angel is so lovely!

I am happy to learn that you use your nice items every day, I was wondering if you did it or not ;-) It's so nice to have a dinner in such a nice decor!

Personally I used to never use my pretty things such as my crystal items (just look them in the cupboard), but I learned to use them now. What a pleasure!

Sometimes, some of them break and ... Heyhey, it is an opportunity to buy new ;-)

LOL, Prosp, I like your way of thinking. You are right that breaking something is good reason to buy more. But I am glad you are using your pretty crystal and enjoying them.
I have always had trouble learning to actually USE something. I tend to save it, and then it never gets truly enjoyed. I hope I am learning different now.
Kathleen, I LOVE that Irish Angel for your granddaughter.

What a sweet angel, Kathleen. Love her face.

I used to not use my "nice" things either, until my Aunt said "who are you saving them for--your husband's next wife after you are gone?" That sort of shocked me into realizing that I need to enjoy everything while I can. And who deserves to use and enjoy the nice things more than my own family? Right?

Kathleen, luv your wee lucky gent! Most of the St. Pat's decor around here is not nearly as nice as him, lots of cheapo stuff!!

Luv all your bargains, I just can't wait for yard sales to start here!!
