Hairspray

What do you do about the layers of dried hairspray on walls, doors, towel bar, and floor in the bathroom?? Seems like the only way to prevent this is to wipe things down every darn time I spray my hair - like that's going to happen!! Any ideas?

Soap and water about once a month does wonders. I have never had a problem getting it off....once I get around to doing it.
And....please remember....I am of the "beehive" hairdo generation!...I KNOW hairspray!

    Linda,
I haven't wiped off these walls/doors for ages - think I may need a chisel to get the hairspray off! Gross! I have really short hair and use heavy duty stuff to "laquer" it in place.

I noticed you're from Iowa - I grew up in Corning, but have been in Northern CA for 20 years. Have my 30th High School reunion this summer & can't wait to go back!! Kinda miss it.. Where do you live?

Central Iowa about 30 miles East of Des Moines.
Last fall I went to my 50th reunion ( I told you I am of the Beehive generation!) and had more fun than should be allowed! I grew up in New Jersey....so I hadn't been back for a while.
If you think you'll be bored, or looking for something to do while you are here....give a shout. We can go find something to scrub!!

I used an eraser and it worked wonders.

The Mr. Clean Eraser is exactly what I was going to say, too. Worked the best of anything I have found!

Plain old (cheap, full strength), rubbing alcohol, on a rag or sponge, followed with a dry rag....works wonders on mirrors, too. I keep it in a spray bottle, for counter tops, etc.

Check a hidden spot on anything that might not be colorfast or you're not sure of, no problem with chrome, mirrors, etc.

Joy, will have to try the alcohol trick, sure would be a lot cheaper than the erasers! Thanks for the tip...

Awesome does a fantastic job on my hairspray problem!

I've always used rubbing alcohol, too--works for me!

Shampoo works!! I mean, think about it--it comes out of your hair when you wash it! That thinking is what caused me to try it and it worked!

I just step into the shower and spray away. The residue gets washed off the next time I shower!
