Dish soap like Ivory or Palmolive or Joy and warm water.
As long as it's not a weekly process, you could even put them in the dishwasher with a very small abount of dishwasher detergent....just a pinch of detergent.

Dawn liquid dish soap is supposed to be the best for getting grease off hand washed dishes. Cigarettes leave a greasy film. So try Dawn. It can be hard on hands; if you are sensitive, wear gloves. If I wanted to try some electric dishwasher detergent, I think I would use it to hand wash them. Let them soak a few minutes in warm water with the Cascade or whatever, and then rinse and dry.

There are three smokers in my home and my plates hang on the dining room wall.

I would clean them with a damp soft rag and very diluted household ammonia or just Windex.

Never dunk them in the sink or put them in the dishwasher as if they are everyday dishes and they will be fine.

Thanks very much for the responses! My wife took the dish soap route and used a kirkland brand that has grease fighters and let them soak for a few and they cleaned right up. We packed them up for now to display later on when we finish our build and knowing that my wife or i wont be cleaning them too often once there up, it's nice to know that they'll clean up easy again using the soap & water methods.
