Well, I always washed my gloves in something called "glove wash" which I understand was very similar to Woolite.
Just soak, wash, rinse very well....and lay out on a towel to dry.....then work them.....they will be stiff when they dry and you will have to sort of "massage" them to soften them up.
Wearing will do it as well!
I don't know about the oxy stuff.....might work really well......and moght not. Old kid gloves have a way of yellowing.....like old ivory. Nice if you like the look, awful if you don't!

lindac, where did you get the glove wash?

I'm worried about removing the oils from the leather with a presoak.

--I love the 'ivoried' appearance of old gloves. Have no desire to 'restore' the color, just get spots of unidentified whatever out.

I do have a pair with a gummy sticker from a tag- on the outside of the glove, no less. Ew.

Look for some leather cleaning pop up cloths or liquid. I use the pop up towels from TARGET and they work great on my leather jacket and handbag.. They also take care of car seats adn dashboards very well.

I got the "glove wash" from the glove counter where I bought the gloves....BUT I also knew the woman who marketed it and sold it to bridal salons etc.....and she was sued by the Woolite People who claimed she stole their formula...or was in some way infringing on their product.
Woolite also works. put them on your hands ( the gloves) and wash them like you are washing your hands. Then dry them like you are drying your hands....remove the gloves turn rightside out.blow inthem to inflate....sort of....and lay on a towel to dry. I also have heard of doing that using a bar of Ivory soap. If the gloves have been worn by a sweaty handed lady....the inside will still be sweaty...LOL!
As for the sticky stuff...??..Maybe something like Ronson lighter fluid?...I don't lnow if it would spot the gloves though....
