A little bit o' Easter

It's been a rough anxiety week for me and going to be worse next week as DH will be gone to CA on business.

With some encouraging words from the lovely Karen (THANK YOU!), I reprimanded myself to stop dragging around in self pity and do something constructive.

Not perfect but cat proof and it's helped me a bit to see some cheery colors around. Of course next week I'll probably do something different to stay busy but for now....

The table..

The sidecabinet (complete with some friends for Scope Bunny- LOL)..

Closeup of the sidecabinet..

A floral arrangement for the bathroom..

A pair of chocolate color bunnies hiding under the arrangement to add character..

And the BOTP cabinet (now you know something is "up" when I go this far- LOL) ..

I feel like something else should be added in here but have no idea what so I've left it as is for the moment.

MM, another beautiful table and side cabinet. Pretty shade of green tablecloth and I love your placemats. The flowers with eggs are nice. Love bunnies and all looks great.

Hope you start feeling better and don't have another bad week next week too. Is this something you have no control over?

DH just got all his medication changed today so maybe he'll be back on his feet and able to work again next week. It's sad when others hurt and we can't help.

    Thank you Punk :).
Unfortunatly I've been plagued by terrible anxiety for a number of years that is usually fairly well controlled but when I think of something as being "major" , it's not so good.
I have a paralyzing fear of flying and he's going through Dallas, LAX & O'Hare all on this one trip. UGH!
The safety factor stuff, general worries ect coupled with a few other things that are going on around here just makes me a nervous wreck.
He's never been gone so far or so long before and my son packed up and left to his Dads for the week on spring break but I will still have our roommate here to talk me down to calm and help out if I need it.
    I'll be alright :).

I hope the best is ahead for your husband as well.!

MM, I'm so PROUD of you for doing this! I know it was hard when you are fighting anxiety. (I was glad to hear you won't be alone and your friend can help you deal with things. That's a blessing!)
I don't fly either, tho I have a few times many years ago.
Scares the crap out of me. And I don't want any of my family on planes either. I remember several years ago when some of my 'kids' decided to take a vacation together, to Hawaii. My daughter, her DH, and their 3 kids. Along with my DDIL and her 3 kids (Jason couldn't go, so he told my DH to go in his place). So I had 6 of my 8 grandchildren on the plane, and 4 close family members. Its a wonder I didn't give myself a heart attack! Tho it kept me from sulking that I couldn't go to Hawaii and yet my DH got to. LOL.
I LOVE, LOVE, the floral arrangement and mirror w bunnies below it. As for your pretty, colorful, vignette in last photo...maybe some berry or flower sprigs or a couple of small faux eggs at the bunnies feet? Tho really, it looks fine now.
    Way to go, Girl!

Punk, keeping your DH in my prayers. Know its been rough on both of you.
    hugs, Karen

Oh, I love that bathroom arrangement ... those chocolate bunnies look so good...that I'd like to be taking a bite! LOL! I like them lurking under the flowers & the colors of it all!

MM...when you said you need something else added in the BOTP cabinet (what is that??? "bottom of toliet paper?")...LOL! LOL1 ...anyway, my first thought was music playing, "Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail...." ... you get the idea??? LOL

I love the cheerfulness of all this decor...and GOOD FOR YOU, Milosmom! I have a saying taped by my keyboard, "We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails." SHIP AHOY, Holiday-er friend! TFS! Jeanne S.

    Karen :
Thank you :), I really took what you said about putting the mind effort elsewhere and went with it.
Ah yes, my roomie.. he's a pretty big guy (the same one who lost his home to fire on V-day eve), so I think I'm in good hands there. Poor man doesn't know what I'm like when in a tizzy though. Bless him! LOL
The way I am now with just DH flying away, I KNOW I wouldn't make it if a whole bunch of my people got up and left. LOL
I never do vignettes as I'm just not to good at grouping items together but it struck me that I could use that little space for something.
Anndd when you mentioned berries , I just remembered , I have some! LOL I think they are out in the shed so I will have to go find them and try it out. Bless you woman!

    Jeanne:
Thank you! Coming from someone who creates such absolutly beautiful vignettes that means allot (maybe I can be taught, I hope..lol).
BOTP is "back of the potty" coined by I believe OA (and please forgive me if I have the wrong person , I don't mean to). In my case though , it could well be "bottom of the toilet paper" though as I have the white cabinet over the potty and the TP is above the vignette. LOL
I really like the saying you have on your keyboard. I'll have to remember that, TFS it with me.

MM, I had a fear of flying all my life til about 5 years ago. I had been laid up for 9 months in horrible pain from my back & it was during the Christmas time that year that I had truly given up & did not want to wake up one more day. I kept hoping I would not wake up every day of that time, the pain was so bad.

I was totally housebound, would be alone all day til hubby came home & the depression set in bigtime.

From meds I was on, I did not want to eat, and went down to 90 lbs. I was a mess.

After getting into physical therapy, (it took a full 4 months to get relief) I had finally beaten the pain & the problem, and decided, for our anniversary in June that year, that we would go to Florida because of all I had put my DH thru because of my pain.

I made the reservations & DH said he knew I'd chicken out, well I didn't & I flew & it was NOTHING. We go to Florida every year now & we all fly. My oldest son HAS to fly for his work ( he hates it ), about 4 times a year, I just told myself I cannot worry everytime he flies & he has to do it, it's his job.

I found a site before I flew, that helped get me on the plane that first time, it is online & it is written by a pilot & it is a great help.

You are doing the right thing, that table is so cheery & I'm sure it will get your spirits up every morning when you wake up & see it.

I especially love that you used lilacs on that side table, I love them, but the real ones don't last a day, once cut!

The chocolate bunnies are so cute too, that is one thing I haven't bought yet, I feel if I buy one, I'll need many more to use all over the house!!!

Just think of the time this way, you have free time to play with tablescapes, probably time you rarely have normally!!!

OMgosh, Milosmom! HOW SOON WE ALL FORGET!!! (well, substitute the word "I" in place of "we!" Here's the subject line from that BOTP acronym that I posted!!! LOL! TOO FUNNY! Thanks, MM! And hang in there! Jeanne S.

    Yachter:
What a terrible time you had of it there for awhile it seems :(. I'm so glad you were able to get the pain under control and ease your fear enough to take such a great trip with your DH.
I know for a certainty I could never ever do such a thing *sigh*.
Yes yes & yes... you must buy a chocolate bunny er two, maybe even three *Grin*.
I peeked at and bookmarked the link you gave me for flying fears and maybe perhaps will watch a few of the link videos , if I can get the nerve. lol

What a great way to keep your mind--and hands--occupied MM. And just look at how pretty it all turned out! I really like the plates you used, having a rim around the plate is my favorite kind. It's nice to see all the pretty flowers and cute bunnies too. I have a couple of the chocolate looking bunnies too--they always make me hungry! LOL

Both my DH and my DS have always had to fly allot for their jobs, and at one time my DH even had his pilot's license and I used to fly with him, so I've learned to accept it pretty well. I will admit to getting a bit "tense" when there's any turbulence whether in a big plane or a small plane, but overall I enjoy looking out at the clouds and the landscape below--or I just take a nap. Of course, I always whisper a prayer before and after a flight as well, that helps to remind me that I'm in good hands. ;o)

You are on the right track--just keep busy and hopefully your DH will be back quickly.

Yes, it is a hobby, and a good way to take our minds off our troubles.
I am so glad you are enjoying it, and that it helps your problem, even just a litle.
If it cheers you up, great! And it is a cheerful table!

    Milosmom,
Nice table. Your dark dishes go really well with the yellow placemats - I would never have thought to do that.

So sorry to hear that you are feeling anxious about your husband's trip. Hope he gets back soon and you feel better. I just flew to CA to visit my sister and I was a little worried about the baby not liking the flight. There was a lot of activity going on inside so I could not tell if the baby liked it or disliked it!! :)

Congrats to you MM for creating such pretty decorations when you are having problems. However, it's often better to keep busy doing things. I know that works for me. Have you tried Lavender essential oil? I use aromatherapy regularly and find it really helps for many problems. Smells nice too!

Way to go, staying busy always helps me through any situation. I really like the Spring centerpiece on your table. And I think those little green and yellow glass bunnies are indeed cousins to some of mine. I have had a hard time staying out of the Easter candy this year ( I've eaten the jelly beans out of my hurricane candles already) and those chocolate bunnies are not helping. I know having anxiety problems is no fun, my SIL has a hard time with them, she even missed her own sons wedding because she could not bring herself to get on the plane at the very last minute. I hope DH gets back soon and you can work through this.

Oh, those little chocolate-look bunnies are so cute! Do they make you hungry looking at them? Every time I contemplate buying one that I find someplace, I always think they'd make me crave chocolate and cause me to gain 10 pounds . . . so I don't buy it. They look delicious ;^D

Lucky :: I use lavendar lotions ect on a pretty regular basis. It really does seem to help.

    Syble:
LOL, I've already ate all the easter candy that was in the house just today while sitting and doing nothing. I really tried but just couldn't make myself "get with it". *sigh*
Fortunatly my anxiety is fairly well controlled by itself unless something comes up that really gets me stirred up (an accident, a death, anything out of my control pertaining to my son/DH/mother ect), thankfully it is a rare occurance.

Lynn : When it comes to candy, I'm always hungry so I figured the little choc bunnies wasn't going to make things any worse. LOL
