Spring Luncheon

I got some new bowls/plates and tablecloth when doing my Easter shopping awhile back so decided to invite some family and friends for a spring luncheon to try them out. It was a simple meal consisting of cream of broccoli soup, finger sandwiches, veggies & dip and a Pineapple/Strawberry Lush cake for dessert. I made a homemade punch with fruit garnishes as well. Sorry, unlike Kathleen, I never think to take a picture of the food (I only think of food as a way to use my dishes! LOL)

Hey DD, those colors just scream Spring Time!!! I love your blue dishes. The entire table setting is very lovely.
I might have to rethink my former opinion on "pastels".
LOL. Of course since this forum make me appreciate PINK, I'm pretty much reformed already.

DD, that looks so pretty. Love your new tablecloth and napkins, and the new dishes are so pretty. Really cute idea using the flowers in those mugs and you even added cute little doilies. Very nice. ;o) Luvs

That looks beautiful!! I love the colors, and the Battenburg lace mats, so pretty.
You have a lovely home, very welcoming!
Yes, I enjoy doing the food too. It is an artistic expression for me, sometimes it looks like scribble though!
Your menu sounds lovely, too. I just saw a recipe for a sandwich you do in a spring form, I have to try it soon
Thanks for sharing your lunch with us!

DD, what a lovely table! Your new plates are splendid!

I would have appreciated to look at the brocoli cream in your bowls... this should be great!

    Springtime's here!

What a gorgeous table scape! I love your menu!

Ladies, thanks for all your compliments on my tablescape and menu.

Karen, glad we are working to "convert" you into the world of ALL colours :) I am really glad I bought the tablecloth and napkins - with so many colours in it, I have a lot of options for different coloured dishes. I am thinking the green & yellow sets I bought last year will give me another look.

Luvs, nice of you to notice the mugs with flowers. I like to use non-traditional types of "vases" when I can.

Kathleen, so kind of you to say my home looks "welcoming" -that is how I want it to look the most. I use those Battenburg placemats so much they are getting a bit tattered looking...maybe time to go shopping. Sure hope you will post a pic of the sandwich in the springform pan when you make it - sounds good. I only think of taking a pic of the food after everyone's already tied into it! And I've never seen a pic of your food that looks like "scribble"...it all looks super delicious!

    DD,
I tried to post a comment the first day I saw these beautiful pics but, for whatever reason, my computer was soooo slow and I finally gave up.
I saw some dishes like your new ones here but not but 1 or 2 blue bowls or plates. Loving blue as I do the other colors just didn't speak to me. Seeing your pics I sure wish I could have found enough blue for a tablesetting.
Love the way the tablecloth and napkins just pull everything together so beautifully.
And those lace placemats make me drool. Never saw anything that lovely around here. Wish I could find a set.
I've never tasted broccoli soup. I would like to have your recipe to try. It sounds so springy!
All of you give me courage to try setting more pretty tables myself.
I finally got a new camera and even took some pics and will try to post some as soon as I have time to figure out how to get them on the computer. Lots of church activities, spring cleanup in the yard, and planting new shrubs. YEA!!!!
Still haven't figured out how to take really close up pics for those wonderful details all of you have shown here, but I will!
    Anyway, Great spring table!

Dining delight, wow, so pretty I love the soft pastels all together, you did everything beautifully!

Just wanted to thank you Judith and Betty for your kind words on my spring luncheon table. Betty, the other colours that these dishes came in were a pastel green and a light yellow which I also loved but have something similar so I went for the blue which is totally new for me as I haven't got any other dishes with blue in them. I know how busy spring can be with all the chores and obligations but hopefully you will find time to use your new camera and post lots of pictures for us to enjoy.
