Combo StoveTop ...

We've decided (now that we've finally seen it in action) to go with a Diva induction - the 3 hob. We want a 2 burner gas module to go with it.

Now for the problem: We really like the Wolf dual flame, but their two burner module is 15" wide. The Diva 3 hob is 24" wide. Side by side, these would be 39". Which means we either go with at 36" popup vent (we are not going with an overhead), or a 45". I'm leaning towards the 36". Either way, we would have an interesting cut for our countertop, and I'm not sure I will like the look - I really don't want it glaringly noticeable that this is three separate pieces.

So - we've been trying to find someone nearby that has a Miele that we can check out (since their two burner module is 12" wide), and haven't been able to find one. The appliance store where we saw the Diva told us that they don't care for Miele's attitude when it comes to service (according to him, their first response is that the owner did something wrong, their second response is that the appliance wasn't installed correctly ...), and that Wolf service is very good.

So - I guess what I'm asking here is twofold:

1. For those of you with Miele gas cooktops, do you like it? If you've had any problems with it, how was Miele to deal with?

2. What's your opinion of a 36" popup vent with 39" of cooktop?

If you made it this far with my ramblings, thanks ...

-Susan
