Canada Day

It was my week to bring coffee goodies at work so of course, I had to set the staff room table. Canada Day is coming up on July 1st so I went with that theme. I made some Banana Walnut and some Orange/Cranberry muffins for the morning snack (put little flag picks in them) and for the afternoon coffee break, I made a cherry cheesecake because it was red and white (forgot to take pics of it though). I got two bandanas that have a flag print on them at the Dollar Store for the centerpiece cloth. I also got some vinyl cling-on stickers to put on a white teapot and cups I had. It sure made for a festive atmosphere at work!

That is really pretty, DD. Those bandanas are the perfect touch. The staff better appreciate you!
Actually I'm sure they love you and are thrilled at how you spruce things up for them.

    hugs, Karen

    Looks great, DD.
Happy Canada Day...I think today is St. John the Baptist Day there, no?

Your table looks great DD. Bet your coworkers were thrilled when they walked in and saw such a pretty table and those yummy goodies! Happy Canada Day! Luvs

Thanks Karen, Kathleen and Luvs! Kathleen, you are better than me for Canadian holidays being correct in that it was St. Jean Baptiste Day on the 24th but I think that is only celebrated in Quebec. I live in British Columbia so only knew of it by reading a calendar!

Yes, the staff do appreciate my coffee week ...trouble is I'm running out of new goodies to serve..I'd much rather set a table than do the baking/cooking.

DD, your table is, as usual, lovely and your banana muffins seem so appetizing! mmmmmmmmmmmm!

Will try to remember to post on July 1st.

DD, your table is great! I love red and white together for any reason. I am sure your coworkers just love you!

I don't know if I had mentioned it before, but I was born in Canada, both of my parents were born in a very tiny town there. My dad joined the US Army during the Koren conflict, came back married my mom and we had since lived all over the world. Canada is such a beautiful country, unfortunately I don't get there any more. When my dad retired he lived in Canada for 20 years then moved back the the US, but I have a sister who still lives in Canada though.

Thank you Prosperity and Judith for your comments on my table setting.

I had no idea you were born in Canada, Judith! Thanks for sharing that info about yourself with us. I was born in a tiny town in Saskatchewan but my family moved to a small town in B.C. when I was eight. Except for going away to college and to another town for my first job, I have lived here ever since. Like the States, there is a lot of wonderful diversity in Canada's landscape but I really do love the snow-capped mountains where I live and would hate to ever leave here.
