Seaside Setting

I was inspired by the other beach themed posts of late to do such a table setting and thought I'd share some pics. I used sand and shells in martini glasses as placecard settings, some clear shell plates I got at the Dollar Store on top of my blue flower shaped plates and a bamboo runner for a seaside feel. The individual candles have tiny pebbles in them with blue/clear glass beads, water and a floating candle. Now, I just need DH to cook us up a nice lobster dinner like he loves to do!

DD, what a wonderful tablesetting, once again I am transported to the beach, who says I can't travel thru the internet? LOL I love all the special touches from the martini glasses to the lantern with the shells and candle in it, the silver beaded placemat give gives an added sparkle to the setting just like the white foamy water from the waves crashing on the beach. So pretty!

Very very nice, DD. I like how you used the multiple candle holders, and the rattan and shells and the star shapes are just perfect. Such great attention to detail too, like the little shell on each napkin. Even the threads in the rattan mat are the perfect color. Sure hope your DH cooks you up that lobster dinner--this tablescape is just perfect for it. ;o)

DD... How nice that looks! It makes you feel like you are actually on the beach! I love that color of blue- just perfect for the ocean color. Cute idea with the martini glasses.

Judith said what I am feeling looking at that. WOW.
Almost makes me forget how hot it is here for a moment.
(you can add the lobster if you want, I am not a fan of seafood, so at least something wouldn't tempt me on a table of yours. Finally, LOL)

    What a lovely setting!
At the moment I saw your pics I thought about a "lobster dinner in Nantucket" (forgive my ignorance of Canadian islands).
And yes, you can add a lobster picture... I am a lobster's best friend :D

Very nice, DD, like all the shell themed things. Great job..

Judith, Luvs, Mary, Karen, Prosperity, and Kathleen - thanks so much for your compliements on my tablescape. It was fun to do but wish I could have set it up outside - the weather just hasn't been cooperating here with so many thunder storms and rain. I'm still waiting on DH for the lobster dinner.... he has mentioned maybe doing some crab and prawns with some BBQ steak which also sounds good.

Prosperity, are you a lobster's best friend because you like to eat them? In that case, they might not think you are their "best friend"! LOL!

DD...we usually go to Cape Cod every summer.. I would love to find a place that has the Ambiance of your tablesetting!!
I love all the different glass pieces w/shells and candles and the added touch of blue is perfect!

    Thanks Jane and Jaybird!

Jaybird, I don't live on the coast either but rather have to make do with frozen lobster but am not sure I could do the "boil a live one" thing anyway!

Lucky you, Jane getting to go to Cape Cod! I have to admit that after starting to do my own tablescapes, I am often disappointed in restaurant settings and feel it is often nicer to stay home if I do it up right....if only I liked to cook! Maybe you can find a Bed & Breakfast place that does it up right. I often even take a basket of "pretties" to hotel rooms to make them feel more special.

Oh yes, DD, I love to eat lobster! In fact, I love to eat seefood.
By the way, talking about the weather, it's the same here: thunder storms and rain. Wonderful month of July ;-)

DD funny I used to LOVE to eat lobster...however,as I got older, when it came to Picking out a live one...it started to have an effect on me. I started to experience a pang of guilt. and the feelings that > I > LOL So now,
I find, that it's just easier for me to order Lobster Tails..w/o the guilt!! Go Figure...
I like your idea about bringing your own little 'pretties' to hotel rooms..and as far as not liking to cook and not finding a resturant with just the right setting... I think it would be great to set your own beautiful tablescape (at home) to suit whatever mood you're in, then have 'SOMEONE ELSE' come in a do the cooking!!

You are too funny Jane! I agree totally with the live lobster thing and yes, does Martha Stewart REALLY know what a lobster feels! Love your idea of setting the table and having someone else do the cooking...I am pretty lucky though as DH will often make meals but it usually involves something barbequed!

Prosperity, hope your weather has recently improved as we have actually had a few nice days in a row here finally!

DD - what a delightful seaside setting. I can just picture sitting there and enjoying a nice seafood brunch or dinner. As usual you have created such ambiance with your settings down to the smallest detail.....
