White is certainly not the only option for paint. Just as white is probably the most common color to paint kitchen cabinets, many people are now trying different colors. (Check out the kitchen forum for pictures of non-white painted kitchen cainbets.) I see no reason you couldn't do the same with a bathroom vanity.

Have you thought about stripping them and staining them? I gel stained my bathroom vanities. But I had to strip two doors because I had tested paint colors on them. You probably have a lot more paint on your doors than mine did though.
There is also someone who had red painted kitchen cabinets and gel stained right over the red paint.

Also people on craigslist are always trying to get rid of their bathroom vanities. You can usually get them really cheap and start over with a new process.

Another option could be to repaint the base cabinets and take off some of the doors and replace with really high quality wood baskets. That might be pretty too.
