New table is set

My daughter and I went to the Marshalls near her house this a.m. I didn't find anything good, but she bought clothes.

So on my way home I went to Homegoods and TJ Maxx and found a new tablecloth on the markdown rack at TJ's. I've been eyeing this baby for a while but didn't want to spend the $$$. It was marked down to $10 and will fit this table when it's fully open. Right now I have it folded up for dinner tonight. I have a sweet spot for all things French Country. Had to hold myself back from buying plates:

This is my use of it as a "library" table:

I'm just having too much fun with this!

    BonnieAnn,

It looks really nice both ways. I love the tablecloth. How is it that you can wait for something to go on markdown? The stuff I want is always gone if it gets discounted at all! I love the colors and the lamp with that wonderful red shade makes it look very intimate...

And you would never really know it's a dining table from the way you have arranged it as the library table. No wonder you're having fun with it, you got the treasure you were waiting for!

Thank you Magpie! I'm not known for patience, but honestly I have SO many tablecloths......I kept telling myself that I don't "need" another one. Then, before I knew it, whammo, it was on the markdown rack. In our town we have a Marshalls, a TJMaxx and a Homegoods. It's not unusual for me to visit each one 2x/week just for fun!

It's a very pretty cloth and it matches your lamp perfectly. I like your dropleaf table too, they are so handy. I wish we those store near us, it's an 50 minute trip, so I'm lucky if I go twice a year.

I have a feeling that you will find that table very convenient for many things. It's a nice size and tucks against that wall so nicely. Good place for a cup of tea or to sit and write out a grocery list etc. So nice that you were able to find just what you wanted. Luvs

Love that tablecloth! And your drop leaf table is beautiful!

Love the tablecloth. Do you usually leave the table set up? I am guessing you don't?

It's really a great table. I wouldn't keep it covered:).

Oh, gosh no! I keep it set as a library table. I have polished it and the old mahogany is really looking good!
    Thanks all.

Beautiful tablecloth. It certainly was worth the wait.
Love your 'Old mahogany' drop leaf table - one of my favorite styles. I like how you have it set up as a library table.

Thanks so much all! We are enjoying the old table as is for now. I'm so thrilled with it! It's nice to have others who share my enthusiasm (enablers......all of you ;)

Your table is an absolutly beautiful piece. I looove the cloth you found but the table stands so well on it's own as well.
Trust me, you never have "to many" tablecloths. LOL
I went from having 2 rectangular ones this time last year to tossing out the table in favor of my mothers heirloom round one and now over probably 30 cloths to go on it. My soon to be husband ofton says "do/did you really need another?" .... yep. LOL

Bonnie, your new tablecloth looks great and I have to agree with MP. Not only do you have the will power to wait but find it at such a good price. Love the lamp with the red and gold shade. Can hardly wait to see it all decorated for Christmas.

Library table looks great set up and your table is beautiful.

Punk, it's so funny that you mentioned Christmas. I was just thinking about Christmas this a.m. while making coffee and vowing that THIS will be the year I cut back on decorating. Ha ha! We shall see!

Thanks all for your sweet comments!
