Checking up....Judith? Prosperity? Alfred?

Judith, seems you are missing and being missed. How are you feeling and are you still renovating the kitchen?

Betty, what's the latest on how Alfred is doing?

Properity, how is your neck and are you going to need surgery on it for sure? And how is your terrific son doing? I need a cook if he wants to come to Phoenix. LOL.

Hugs and Blessings to all of you,

Karen

    Hi Karen :)

Thank you, it's very nice to you to inquire about my health :)

My neck is a little better: it's less painful every day and I think it was because of the work on the computer (oops, I have not been see the doctor yet). I was very busy to find new furniture for the living room and also spend my time to visit my friends, I am out of the house almost each day, so I don't work much for my internet business and I am not often in front of the computer.

I will be more present after September 1st as it's school again and I'll get back to work, lol.

My son's fine too: he sleeps till 1 PM and makes nothing home except when it's time to eat! I am desperate ;-)

Hahaha, I'll buy him a plane ticket and I'll send this lovely lazy boy to Arizona ;-)

In all honesty, it's raining and/or it's cold since July 3rd ; summer is ruined by the bad weather and we don't want to do anything :-s

Anyway... I think next year we'll leave our lovely country for three weeks in a sunny South European country such as Spain, Italy or... Southern France (travel by car, obviously, lol).

Hey Prosperity...how about Texas....it's lovely, sunny and hot and you wouldn't have to pay for a hotel :^)!!! Good to hear that you are doing better though!
I hope that Judith and Betty pass through to say hello soon!
Thanks and hugs to Karen for starting this thread.

    Hi Everyone,
Alfred is much better. He came home July 18th as you know. He gave me quite a scare last Saturday morning. We were headed out of the door to go to the church because they were having this big fund raiser for us with lots of bands, food, and a large auction, when he started having excruciating pain and I had to rush him back to the hospital. It was a gallbladder attack and took the Drs. until Tuesday to get all of the blood, liver, etc counts good enough so that he could come home.
They were able to help him without surgery for now.
His surgeon will take it out in Sept /Oct when he does the colon reconstruction. He did manage to get the last infection drain tube taken out while he was there which was great. He is feeling better and stronger each day. He washes the dishes and helps fold laundry.
Prosperity, we are happy to hear you are better.
Judith, we want pics of that kitchen renovation!!! I want you to know we were in Target buying a wedding shower present and some white bird s/p shakers jumped in my basket and came home with us!!!!!!
Thanks Karen for checking on us.
    Love,
    Betty & Alfred

Glad you are feeling a bit better Prosperity - keep your computer time down to just checking in with us and that should help! My DS likes to keep the same hours as yours! Fortunately, he has had to get up for work sometimes when on morning shift. He is headed to University though in a couple of weeks and DH and I will be empty-nesters.

Betty, that must have been so upsetting to have to take Alfred to the hosp when you were on your way to a party to celebrate his recovery! Hope your church friends were able to carry on and raise lots of funds to help you out. Glad to hear Alfred is feeling up to helping with a few chores around the home, that always makes a person feel more useful but hope he doesn't overdo it. I pray that his upcoming surgery goes well.

Judith must be hard at work on that kitchen reno which must be hard to fit in on top of her regular job. Hope all is going well Judith!

Well its good to get reports from Betty and Prosp, now where the heck is our Judith!!!
Betty I am so sorry about Alfred and you missing the fund raiser and having to go to the hospital. Dang, not fair at all. But thank goodness he didn't need more surgery and the drain was removed. Prayers will continue for you both.
Hey, that's cool the white bird S&P shakers flew right into your cart. I bet they are cute!

Prosp, so you avoided the doc and surgery this summer did you? LOL, sounds like something I would have done too.
Your young man isn't lazy, he's just resting up for school starting. LOL. What fun getting new furniture, you'll have to share photos with us when you can. Hope you can get back here more often, I miss your posting a lot.

    Hi ladies :)

Jaybird, thanks for the invite ;-) However, I'm afraid of having to take the plane to come to Texas... TX and AZ are states I'd like to visit just because they're hot and there's some kind of desert. My English teacher was amazed that I wasn't interested in going to NY, LA or SF (the famous American dream of the Europeans) but well to Phoenix, Tucson, Amarillo, Austin... maybe because of the TV serie Dallas and also Georges Simenon - a Belgian author - who has been living in AZ for some times. I also would like to go to Nantucket, don't ask me why ;-)

DD, I decided that for next year, my son will go for a holiday job, I will ask in September at the local supermarket so he'll has to wake up in the morning and not in the afternoon, lol.

Oups, yes, Karen, I avoided both the doc and the hospital... so afraid to hear that I'd have to undergo a surgery :-s

I will upload my pics on photobucket and post here :-)
I'm TRYING to write new articles for my weight loss and Halloween sites but am out of inspiration so I will come more often to find new wonderful things to talk about (for Halloween obviously).

Betty, I'm glad to learn that your husband tries to help you a bit home... it makes feel better to be able to participate, even a little...

    Hi all,
Sorry I have been missing in action, I still have issues with my computer, I will have to bite the bullet and go to another computer "fix-it person" Sigh. Plus did not have a good health week all last week, had an MRI yesterday on my head, ICK, MRI on the head is like being buried alive! Not fun, but necessary, they probably instead of brain only saw photos of "accessories and tablescapes" LOL

Betty, I am so sorry your hubby is going all thru that, belevie me I know, prayers to you both!
Karen, thanks for "looking out for us"!

So glad all the MIA's have shown up again! We don't want to "lose" any of our "cohorts" you know. ;o)

Prosperity, you must have a high tolerance for pain to be dealing with this so long. If you find the secret to weight loss (other than taping my mouth shut) I'll sure want to come read your blog! I love food, and weight has been a struggle my whole life with no sign of improvement in sight! LOL

Betty, what a great thing your church is being so helpful and supportive. Those medical expenses sure skyrocket quickly don't they? Sounds like Albert has an ongoing battle to fight back to good health again--just so wonderful and amazing that he survived his accident!

Judith, we've been worried about you. Darn that computer of yours! Sure hope they can get it up and running right again. What's going on with the MRI of your head? Have you been having lots of headaches or something? Sure hope it is nothing too serious. I've been checking your blog off and on, sure hope you will be able to give us an update on your kitchen remodel and more pretty pics of your arrangements soon. Do hang in there, okay? Know you are sick of seeing so many doctors this year. Let's pray that everything will be better soon.

Judith, I'm so glad you could check in. Just wish your darn computer would stop misbehaving. That is awful you had to have an MRI. I am praying the results show nothing but "table-scapes and accessories" in your head.

Love to all of you, and please keep checking in.
    hugs, Karen

Betty, hope things are getting better there everyday!

Judith, so glad you checked in, and praying the only thing that shows up is pics of dishes, napkins and glasses!
Really, it has been a long haul for you too..

Prayers for all who are having health issues!
We need everyone in tip top health for the Holidays!!!

    Hi Luvs,

It's not only high tolerance but also the fact that I'm the worst client for a hospital... There's one in Brussels where I am not welcome any more - I am really sorry for Edith Cavell (the name of the hospital).

I am so afraid of the hospitals that, once I am in, I only think to get out ;-)

Here doctors think they are God... Don't know how they are in your country, but here when you are "patient", you have almost no right.

For instance, my grandmother had a small thrombosis two years ago and was given an anticoagulant that is making her bleeding a lot. She 88 years, she's at risk to die but nobody has the right to kill her by giving a drug to which she is allergic. The doctor waited two years to remove the drug. Here, doctors are right even when they are wrong. Period.

That is why I am so afraid to see one of them.

Regarding weight loss... hem... I have no secret and that is why I created this site: so many diet methods here; which one does really work? I also created a 8 weeks low calories menu; something that is suitable for anyone. But well, it's not easy to never eat something that we really like. I've also tried the cabbage soup diet and improved it. It's doable - only one week ;-) Few years ago, I had a lap banding but had to remove it since it it eroded my stomach. As you can see, I'm still looking for the right diet, lol.

Betty, I am so sorry for your health problems and hope that you'll get well as quickly as possible as well as Judith's DH!
