Using power washers

We have been having problems with our well and lots of things are getting very dirty as a result. We have enough water to shower, wash clothes and dishes if we don't do it all at once but washing slime off our decks has stopped and the deck is getting very slippery.

My question is does a pressure washer HAVE to be connected to a tap or will it pull water out of a barrel? We do get a fair amount of rain which I can collect in barrels and this could be used to clean the decks, siding, etc., if I could pressurize it in some way.

I'm sure that it needs pressure from a faucet. My front faucet is from a well and when the a/c is on (heat pump) there isn't enough pressure to run it and the pressure washer at the same time.

The rain is a great source of clean water, much cleaner than our York Haven crap.
Why not use a small water pump, or a sump pump ??

When I read your post, I thought you must be from the wet side of Washington. My deck is covered in slime and getting very dangerous to walk on. I don't have a power washer. Is that the answer? Do you do anything besides power wash?
