Hi Luvs...enjoyed these pictures and had to share a picture that I took of my DR table BEFORE I did my Fall centerpiece!! I have a similiar tall Compote, that I had bought a few years ago when my DD had a Southern Home party...they had so many beautiful things for entertaining. This was one of the things I bought, and look how I used it... Juse like your pic!!

Luvs, I really enjoyed looking at those pics, great ideas, thanks for sharing!

Jane, you have a BEAUTIFUL home/furniture and Luv's link proves that you already KNOW how to decorate it! LOL! You did a terrific job with your compote dish....but did you get the idea from the picture on your wall or did you buy that at the same time? Just love it - so coordinated!

Your table looks perfect, Jane, and I too was pleasantly surprised to see that the compote arrangement on your table matched your picture! Those chairs are so pretty and look to be really comfortable too. TFS.

Luvs, thanks for posting the link, I enjoyed looking thru it. I love when centerpieces have fruit in them, so natural and definately useful (Yum).
Slinky, your home is lovely, and it is cool how your centerpiece "matches" the art work.

Thanks, Luvs for the link. I especially love the initial written on the leaf with the metallic paint.
And Slinky, I love your house. I'll just take that mirror in your hallway,Thank you very much!!
And I believe those comfy chairs would look soooo good with those dishes I just bought. OK? OK!

Very nice...simple and understated, yet very elegant. :-) I do love centerpieces that just change out the interior for the seasons - so easy!

Luvs, that was a nice link with lots of ideas.

Jane - you have a lovely house. Beautiful chairs and like Betty said, your centerpiece matching the painting looks great!

Is the compote tall made out of wood or iron or some metal? It's splendid!

Also love your "curtains" and chairs, but I LOVE red for a home ;-)

Oh MY GOODNESS Ladies!!! I am sooooo touched by such warm compliments!! I really just wanted to show off the compote and the fact that I had something similar..Never expected to receive so many responses. LOL As far as me making the fruit compote centerpiece...I really didn't think of the picture.. In fact, when my DD did the Southern Home party, it was around the holidays, and she made a centerpiece using faux fruit and berries. I always like the look, and had the fruit, and so did likewise. When you all mentioned the picture...I had to laugh..I just didn't think about it. Well...thank you about the chairs. They are comfy...In fact, I'm trying to sell my DR set..table & chairs and will be listing it on CL. The Mirror in the hall, is really DH's 'pick'. Too elaborate for me..but he will NOT part w/it..so it stays for a while...lol. The Buffet I purchased at a tag sale and refinished it.
Thank you so much everyone, for liking it all.
kathleen... I made the window treatments..I'm a 'toile'
    freak
betty...LOL...Bring the 'truck' around, and I'll have the chairs and mirror ready >>> or maybe it would be EASIER for YOU to ship YOUR dishes out to ME >>> LOLOL
prosperity...the compote is made of some sort of composition material which looks like wood..it's really very heavy

Jane, I am soooo impressed that you made those lovely curtains--I love them! You did such a professional looking job on them that I thought they were done by an interior decorator--other than you that is. ;o) Luvs

LOL..thank you luvs..many times, I use sheets to make my window treatments..It's so much cheaper. I've been sewing since I was taught waaaaay back in elementry school. In 6th grade, we learned to make aprons (by hand sewing) for 7th grd cooking classes. In 7th grd..they taught us how to use sewing machines..and for 8th Grd..we made our graduation dresses!! It was a wonderful experience, that I don't think is done now a days. I love making all sorts of things..and lately I've been sewing lots of insulin pump bags for my GD...I think you were on the Crafts site, when I was on there asking for some buckle sources.

In Belgium, when I was young, we had housework art classes such as cooking and sewing, only one hour a week but we learned a little bit of sewing (socks repair and how to cook eggs, for instance, lol).
Unfortunately, such courses are missing today.
When I look at your art... I think these courses were really important!
