I think I was probably the person who brought this up before. We have had the 24" for a while now and ours does the same thing. We had the appliance repair guy out for another reason and he assured us that it is working properly. If your guy says anything differently I would love to know. It definately does heat up our very small kitchen and so far we have just dealt with it. I'm not looking forward to very hot days!

BTW one reason we had him come out is that the little bar that is inserted in front of the oven (like a towel bar - also keeps you from leaning too close to the flame) kept falling out. After a couple of times it left a bunch of scratches and small dents. They will be replacing the parts that got scratched. So watch out for that piece if it doesn't stay put.

I had the repair man over and the "cooling fan" runs all the time the oven/broiler is on. I've resigned myself to this ... don't use the oven so much in the summer (bbqing is a lot more fun!). Will save on heating bills in the winter. (-: Other than this feature I was not expecting, I really like the 30" range.

You do realize, of course, this is covered in the manual:

"Note: the cooker is equipped with the cooling fan that starts operation each time the oven knob is on a position different from 0 (zero). The fan circulates the air between the control panel and the oven door and also allows the control panel and the oven door stay at a warm temperature during the appliance operation in any condition."

There's no way around it -- you have to keep the electronics cool or they will "fry", to use a technical term. And it's another reason why those of us with ranges without electronics are pretty happy campers...

What electronics?

Just moved into a new house with a Bertazzoni range and using it for the first time. Surprised and disappointed about the blowing hot air. (We live on the 12th floor of an apartment building with no A/C.) I too am curious what electronics there are to be fried. I had a Blue Star in my previous home and bought it because it was electronics free. I was glad to see the Bertazonni in this apartment assuming it was too. Any thoughts?

Has anybody found a way to fix this issue, either with a spare part or workaround? Our Bertazzoni range (came with the house) also blows hot air into the room, and I would really like to actually use an oven occasionally during the summer months, which right now is basically impossible (we don't have an A/C).

I bought a Bertazzoni 30” gas for my recent renovation as the main focal piece of the design and am so utterly disappointed with this disaster of a ”high end” range. Yes its a beauty but I couldnt believe it blasts out 425 hot degree ar the top of the door! i thought it was seal, which is really flimsy and actually doesnt even seal to the surface, but no, tech support says this is how it cools. OMG! No, it can’t be so! So not only does it heat my house to 84 degrees, but i cant use the cook top while something is in the oven. Ive used it twice, trying the convection mode at 350, no difference, and every inch of the range, top, front front, sides sides, dials, is extremely hot, and Im afraid to use it, a complete fire hazard. I literally thought it was going to explode. Im getting really upset just writing this comment because I love to cook and thought splurging would be worth it, but now its been takeout and airfryer for a month. what a complete waste of $4000.

I also have the same issue brand new from the factoey the cooling fan osnt workong and the knobs are overheating, also the front glass is falling out. it gas been over 10 months of trying to get help from bertazonni and no help. any help here would be great.

Another comment on this stove: I had to spend something like $350 !!! to get a toe kick plate sent from Italy to cover most of the space under the oven between the legs, in order to keep my cat from crawling under there for a nap!! Cat toys still slide under there so I must fish them out with a yard stick.

Also, there is no notch on the door hinge so you can keep it open a bit to cool after baking.

The brilliant light is always on during oven use and that's a bit annoying.
