Alfred wanted it
We were in TJ Maxx and I was standing in one spot too long debating on some dishes (what else) and Alfred got bored waiting and left me to walk around and look.
A few minutes later he came back and told me he had seen the neatest thing and he had never seen one in a store before.
And he let me buy it for him! I was so excited. He never, hardly ever, lets me spend money on him. He always says he doesn't NEED it, or he won't even tell me about it until days later.
His aunt had guinea-fowl when we first got married and I fell in love with them. If anybody comes to your house when you are gone, when you get home, they will come running to you chattering in their own little language to let you know that someone had been there as soon as you get out of your vehicle. I was so upset when a fox or something kept catching and killing them at night until they were all gone. They are great pets. And they eat ticks.
So.. back to Alfred. He said in all his life he had never seen a glass guinea for sale. So now he has one to sit on his bookshelf. It feels so good to buy him something that he enjoys for a change. I wish he would let me do it more often.
