I won something -

and I'll be blogging about it tomorrow but I thought I'd give you a sneak peak at tomorrows blog entry...cause it's just in time for Halloween...:)

I'm one of those people that can count the times I ever won anything in my life on one hand.

Imagine my surprise when I got a phone call yesterday announcing that I won the grand prize of a local Halloween Raffle I participated in and that I needed to pick "him" up today.

Please join me in welcoming the newest addition to our family "James".

He is a tall fella, about 6' and he is ambitious to become our dining room greeter, just in time for Halloween. Maybe in the future he'll decide to pick up the duties of a Butler, only time will tell what goes on in his head.

He is a man of few words and only blurts out three phrases every time someone walks by him.

You'll either hear "I don't think we've met...at least not on this side of the grave" or he'll greet newcomers with "More guests...please leave your body at the door and do come in".

Another way he'll start conversation is by stating "Welcome...lovely evening for a fright...isn't it".

As his lips move and the words spill out, he glares at you with his lit up eyes, shifting them back and force while holding his lit candelabra.

For now his favorite spot is right at the entry to our dining room, we'll have to have a family meeting to decide where he'll reside after Hallows eve.

I hope all of you have a wonderful, frightful but safe Halloween and a great weekend.

Tam

    Welcome James!
He seems to talk as much as my grand-father used to do...
OMG! He looks like a real person, aaaaaaaaaargh!

Congratulations on your 'New Addition'...ummmm I don't know if I would feel comfortable with him living w/me...He's too real looking which would give me the creeps. I'm a chicken when it comes to scarey. I would have to put him in a real secure place, after Halloween for me to feel comfortable!! Honestly...he's fabulous..but scarey. Ever see the movie - Chucky?? lol

Oh cwap, he scares the bejeezes out of me! LOL

Congratulations, but have you tried Match.com....maybe you would find a fella with a bit more life to him!

Oooh, that's fantastic!! (and sooo creepy!)

Tam, how cool is he????? Well, he can also be your security guard, when you go out, just stand him in view from the window in low lighting & people will think there is a man in the house!!!

A creepy, menacing man at that!!

Tam, I happy for you winning something--but that guy would be much too scarey to be in my house! If you stand him by your front door tomorrow night, I'll bet you won't get many trick or treaters either--I'd sure be afraid to walk up to him. Slinkey, I'm with you, thought of Chucky right away--Tam, lock him in your garage tonight okay????? Luvs

Tam, Congrats on your wonderful win. I love James. He makes a fantastic addition to your Halloween. Maybe he can even make your luck turn.

    LOL...you all are too much.
prosperity - yes he does look a lot like a real person. Slinkey - I'm certainly not used to him by any means...lol
Angela - he is creepy...when you take his hat off the hair comes off with it and he looks like a creepy incarnation of Mr. Clean.
Kathleen your match.com comment was just too funny.
Yachter - you have a good point there. However ever since last night he keeps scaring the cr*p out of me. I keep forgetting he is there and everytime I walk by he lights up and starts talking. Almost made me jump out of my skin a couple of times...LOL
luvs - I considered that and covering him with a sheet but then he'll just look like a big ghost...LOL
My youngest is in negotiation with me to let him reside in his room until next Halloween - he thinks he is "cool".
We shall see...he is certainly an inside prop and more then likely would not hold up to the weather we have up here around October.
    Happy Halloween everyone...:)

Oh wow - congratulations! I've always wanted one of those, and the best way to get one is to win him! I bet you'll have a lot of fun with him...

He is kind of creepy in a cool way. My dog would be scared of him and probably won't go near as he is afraid when I put the lights on the pumpkins and won't lay in his bed.

Tam, that is so cool. I can relate to you on being able to count how many times I have won things. James is suitably creepy looking for Halloween. All the comments here are so hilarious!

I would have to throw a party and have me some fun! But I don't think I would invite anyone with heart trouble. He would be really scary in person if you weren't expecting him! Congrats Tam.

You all have to know that if I had a "James", my DH would find it hilarious to keep moving him all over the house where he would "surprise" me! Nope, no way, now how--but I'm glad you won a prize Tam. ;o) Luvs

Tam, how wonderful for you to win something "BIG"! James is just so cool! Did you have fun with him for Halloween last night? Does he make you want to have a Halloween party/gathering to show him off? Now comes the storage!! Have you decided if he will be bunking in with your son?
