Oh, how great! My favs are the spooky tree and the cornstalk. Tell the grands they did an excellent decorating job. ;o) Luvs

All the wooden decorations, the corn stalk & also some of the pumpkin signs are things dh & I did when we used to do craft shows.

The other decor are things the kids have had & they asked if they could go thru & use some of mine & theirs to do my yard last Saturday, so I said "go for it". I think they did a great job!

Punk, it is a real boat, my dh cut down to make it smaller & it is a fountain, used to have fish in it, but don't have anywhere to put them in the winter anymore, so it is just water lillies and other water plants & a fountain.

yachter... I second what Punk said...Can I borrow your GKds too!! They did such a cute job and I can imagine what fun they had doing it. I also love that spooky tree, and was going to ask about it..then saw your last post and can't get over that you and DH made all thos decos. I just love painted wood decorations, and you and DH did a fabulous job. Lots of work too! Great idea with that boat. Also a clever way to still use it. TFS I really enjoyed seeing all your creative talents.

They are 13 & 7(boys) and 9 year old girl. Yes, I think they did a great job.

Oh, there are 3 light up orange orbs in the small ornamental tree in the front yard too, but didn't get a pic of them.

I keep forgetting to mention, the pink flower you can see in the boat pond, is a real water lily, that plant has been sending up flowers for the past 3 weeks, and they are just beautiful!

    OK!........ THAT DOES IT!

We are having a family meeting around the computer screen with DH, DS, and the DGSs, tonight.

Sure wish we had some close-up pics of those great wooden items. DH is a newbie with his woodworking tools and it would help him to get a closer look.

Our corn did great this year and I think I may have just enough for a small shock. I think that's what you call it.

Of course that means I have to get rid of the weeds so you can SEE a nice display. LOL!!!

Give those precious Grandkids a BIG hug from me and tell them they are AWESOME!!

Yachter, I didn't know you used to do craft shows! Had you shared that with us and I just missed it? Now that I know you are a painter--hope you will have time to dig out some pics of things you made and come post them over on the Painting forum. We love seeing things other's have painted, and it gets a bit slow over there at times.

Just wanted to add that I love the boat pond too--it is very unique and sure looks great.

You are a "fun" grandma to say yes when the kids wanted to decorate for you. I just know they had a ball doing it, and love all the praise from the ladies on here. ;o)

    Yatcher,

I agree with Luvs, you should come and join us over on the painting forum. We need more to help Luvs keep it going. She is such a sweetheart to always be there even when she's on vacation. I too would love to see more of your creations if you have more to share.

Betty do you also do painted crafts and haven't come to visit on the Painting forum? We would love to have any or all of you come and join us over there. It gets a bit slow at times but we are doing our best to chat daily.

Yatcher, please tell DH how impressed all of us are with the boat creation. It's amazing what neat things one can come up with. If he ever gets bored and wants to come to MT and make another one, tell him, I'll buy the boat and have it waiting for your arrival.LOL

Luvs & Punk, I have shared it ( I think) when talking about my back problems, probably with Karen.

I had to give it up due to the fact that I used to do marathon painting for fall & Christmas & strained something in my back from leaning on my left side all the time & it laid me up for 9 months of horrible pain that I do NOT ever want to remember again or repeat again.

Therapists said the area in the middle of my back is the hardest to treat as it is the hardest to build up the muscles in, so I am DONE painting!!!

I asked dh if he minded if I went back to breeding dogs, as I did that years ago with poodles & since I could not do crafts anymore, did not want to go stir crazy around the house.

He said "sure" he's very easy going, so I got into breeding Shih Tzus about 4 years ago.

It is not a constant job, just something I love & can have a litter ready to go in spring & then have our summers free.

I now have two female Shih Tzus and am in the market for an all chocolate male to breed. My dh said "no more dogs, unless you are looking to start the chocolates" so call me crazy, I'm looking at chocolate males now!!! LOL

But, thank you for the invite, I just don't have anything new to contribute. The last big seller of ours was those corn stalks with the pumpkins in front of them, I cannot tell you how many of those we made & how many we sold! They were a HUGE hit!
