Hi Kathleen - its Barb from Grits and Glamour. I love those black hydrangeas and the way they look around the casper pumpkins. How clever you are!! Now ya' just gotta tell me where you got the harlequin plates. I am drooling on my keyboard. If Kimberly at Southern Whimsy sees these, she will drive to you and take them. UNless I beat her to it.

    What a fun tablescape!

    Hi Barb,
I got them at Home Goods a few weeks ago.
I really was just picking up 2 for a blogger friend who could only find 10..but then I broke down and got myself some too!

Loved the hydrangas sprayed black with the white pumpkin, great centerpiece. My favorite thing was the cute little witches hanging from the chandy--so cute!

Your door is already beautiful, but will look great in red too. You are just having all kinds of fun updating things around your home aren't you? ;o)

    Hi Luvs!
I was just going to email you..haven't seen you around ..
We had to get a new side door, and since it has to be painted I figured I would go with something different for both..I am getting daring..RED! :) I don't know how much I will like it in summer!

Kathleen, I commented on your blog but am happy to do so again here because this tablescape is fantastic! I love how you did everything in black and white, a great colour combo for Halloween. The checkered plates look great in this setting as do your hydrangeas painted black and surrounding the white pumpkin. I like how you decorated the chandelier too. Above all, I am so happy your pics are larger as it lets us see the finer details of all your talent! (Did you switch blog templates (I recently did that) or just upload bigger pictures?)

    Hi DD,
Yes, when I read you switched and had no trouble I gave it a shot.
I wanted to ask you if you figured out how to get the pics from Photbucket rather than from the computer. I like to do auto fix on PB..(I am using live writer too)
    Do you know how?
Thanks for your kind comments. Your table was gorgeous!
The email through GB doesn't seem to be working , but if you know how would you email me through the blog??
    Thanks!!

Hi Kathleen, just got this as well as your note on my blog asking me to email you. Will do so now (via blog)...sorry I'm so slow!

Kathleen, wonderful, as usual! Loved the poem that you wrote to go along with it, too. Spraying the hydrangeas black was such a great idea . . . and they look fantastic with the ghostly white pumpkin. Your front door greeting witch is darling. I love her there! The outside of your home (and the indside, too) is so pretty and your decorations on your porch must be a delight for your neighbors.

I have to admit, Kathleen, I snuck a peak at the pics the night before on your blog! I was getting tired of waiting & always anticipate your fab tables, so thought just maybe you had them on your blog & YOU DID!

I love it all, those black & white checkered plates are the envy to many of us, and your entire black & white table is stunning!!!

Kathleen, your pictures are always magazine quality, these are no exception. I just wondered, do you think spray painting the hydrangeas would take care of any wild life. It would be fun to paint some black as you did for Halloween, or maybe gold, orange, or brown for Thanksgiving. I just have this THING about worrying about creepy crawlies. We're having cool weather right now, but it could easily be in the 80s anytime between now and Thanksgiving. - Gail

I went to your blog. I just used your link.
And now that I've been there, I'll say what I think.

    It's pretty, it's clever, it's grand, yet it's fun,
There's few who can match you, you can't be outdone.

Your hydrangeas and pumpkins send Halloween wishes,
But I sure wish I had all those black and white dishes.

Now just to be clear, am I jealous? Not I.
("Well, maybe a little," she says with a sigh.)

So if witches have spells, I've got one they can cast,
All those plates on her table, make them disappear fast.

I don't need the flatware, don't want one single glass.
But send me those dishes - and hurry your ....

Once the plate job is done, before taking a breather,
Send me a little of her talent. That shouldn't hurt either.

That's a wonderful table! I really like the way you did the centerpiece!

Those checkered plates really make the table, the toadstool place card holders are precious, where did you find them? The black hydrangeas are very clever, I've sprayed mine alot of colors but never black. I've even sprayed them and left them on the bush before. Your table is a winner as well as your good pics.

Your b/w tablescape is just so elegant - I love the check plates - very MacKenzie-Childs.

Your outdoor deco's are so fun. You have a real talent for putting things together.

I've bookmarked your blog, don't know how I've missed this, guess I'm not spending enough time on the net to see everything! ;-) LOL

Beautiful, Kathleen. I, too, am an admirer of black/white.

OA, that is such a clever poem.

Thanks to both of you for what you bring to the forum.

    Kathleen,

OA's poem on your tablescape is wonderful. I hope you will print this out and frame it to put with your tablescape. Your tables are amazing and so is her poem to you. Love It.

I seen the perfect frames at TJ Maxx that said friends a couple weeks ago. Wish it wasn't 60 miles aways and I'd print two of the poems out in fancy script, frame them, send both to OA, one to sign and send on to you and one to keep.

Well heck, Kathleen, being a flower serial killer..I could probably GROW black hydrangeas. At least for a day or two. LOL. (everything is wonderful as always. I've run out of words to compliment you with)

OA, what a clever writer you are. That poem was a hoot.
    And a keeper for sure!

    hugs, Karen
