pretty cool faucets.......

I love bathroom faucets. The faucets on this site are really different. The one I'm getting is the AXOR STARK X. It's about halfway down the page. It's very modern, wide waterfall design. I found it for a great price online.

They are very cool. What online site did you find it at? We are redoing my ds bathroom and it will be great.

    fab! Name the source donna...

Donna, seems like your tastes are similar to mine. If you ever go to hongkong, check out the Felix restaurant atop the peninsula hotel. Desgined by Philippe Starck! it is very cool especially the mens room ;) The sink alone is to die for :)

Glad to see you back Organic Donna! And what a great faucet. Have you seen the Starck-designed washbasins from Duravit? They are meant to go with the Starck X faucet. Here are a few photos, but there are more styles if you go to the Duravit website.

    Thanks everyone for your replies.
I just did a internet searche for the Axor Stark X. I was going to purchase from insidehome.com, but they raised their prices. faucets4cheap has the faucet at $428.00 which is the cheapest. designerplumbing has a 30 day return policy so I will probably have them price match. I don't want to order yet because the job isn't starting until October.
I love the Stark X sinks akchicago. The only problem is that I am getting a Scavolini zebrawood kitchen cabinet. I couldn't beat the price of doing a kitchen cabinet instead of a regular vanity. It was $$$$$ less. I am also stuck with a 3cm limestone vanity top. I think it will be quite tall so I was going to get a Kohler Katheryn undermount sink. I do love the look of those Stark X bowls though.....
Here is a picture of the toilet I like. I saw it at the Kohler showroom. I like the Duravit toilets a lot, but the one I really want is $2500.00, too expensive for me.

I know it sounds funny to say I love a toilet, but I do love that Kohler toilet! The flusher on the top is soooo European. And it looks easy to clean to boot. Gorgeous and easy to clean--a rare combination that can't be beat.

Donna, I am living vicariously through you, since I do want to redo my guest bathroom (currently all white tile and formica), but don't have the funds right now. Can you let me know which Scavolini kitchen cabinet you chose? And, have you decided on a tub filler and/or showerhead?

Love that faucet. I was torn between that one and this one, but I ended up getting this one.

    akchicago,
I feel bad that you have to wait to do your bathroom. I have saved for a long time and my bathroom is really ugly.

The Scavolini cabinet is called Mood and is Ebony Zebrawood. I can't link it, I just had my harddrive replaced and can't seem to be able to install Adobe Flash Player. I saved a lot of money going with a kitchen cabinet instead of a bathroom vanity. I bought a 18" cabinet combined with a 24" sink base. I went with doors instead of drawers on the 18" and saved 50%. I have a really small bathroom so it's hard to design. I have to put the vanity against one wall, so floating it wouldn't look good. I'm putting in Azul Tulis limestone floors, shower and the vanity. I'm not sure about the toilet but I like the Kohler. I'm going to get the same spout as the faucet, Axor Stark X for the tub.
galinphilly, I like the Citterio faucet a lot. Where did you purchase yours?

Donna, I bought the faucet at everyfaucet.com. I got them to price match lower prices from other sites on a bunch of Hansgrohe items I was ordering. The order came literally the next day. I was very pleased.

We got the Axor Starck faucet that looks like it has ears, and we love it. It pours into the Kohler memoirs undermount sink. We mixed it up with the Kohler stillness tub filler and Axor Starck shower controls, and the Toto Soiree loo. Overall, we have a very modern-looking bathroom. I heard that the Duravit loos were not good performance-wise.

    erica,
Do you have any pictures? Also, where did you purchase your faucets? The toilet I like is the Kohler. When I remodel I go with the look I want to acheive and don't care about function. LOL As long as the toilet flushes I'll be happy.

    Hi Donna,
wanted to chime in as I have been a huge fan of Hansgrohe products for some time. I wanted to suggest the 'Happy D' toilet from Duravit. Although I wanted to use the Starck II wall-hung toilet, there was not enough room in our (apartment) wall to do so without a big bumpout into what is a teeny (5x8) bathroom. So we went with the 'Happy D' which has similar modern lines and is quite compact. I know this is unsolicited, but couldn't help myself! ;-0

I am familiar with the Happy D and like it very much. It actually is one of my choices. The Kohler has a more square bowl. I still haven't decided. I'm not a big fan of elongated bowls. I have a narrow bathroom and my rough is 131/2".

Just MHO, but I just looked up the Duravit Happy D toilet. If I hadn't seen that Kohler Escale that Donna linked to, I would have loved the Happy D. But now that I've seen the Kohler Escale, I feel that the Kohler achieves an elegance (for a toilet!) and original design that I do not see in the Happy D. Sorry, just my --un-asked for --$.02.

The Kohler toilet is very square and that matches my faucet better. The Kohler is a very new style toilet. So far it's my first choice.
I learned the hard way not to order products too early. If I need to return it is very difficult. I will be purchasing in Sept.

Hi Donna! I love your Scavolini cabinets! (And faucets as well.) Now that the kids are back in school, I'm back to bathroom shopping - where did you get your cabinets? We're in Lincoln Park. I thought we'd do custom, but I like the modern look and maybe should do kitchen cabinets like you. Do you think I could get a double vanity for less than 2500?

    Thanks!

I bought a beautiful Ebony Zebrawood cabinet from Scavolini. If you want to save a lot of money you have to get cabinets and not drawers. The drawers cost twice as much. I paid about $2000.00 for my 24" and 18" cabinets. You have to add the cost of your countertop in though.
The place is Accento Italia on Elston Ave. Call first and make an appointment. I like Silvana and she is only in on Mon., Wed., And Fri. 773-279-0050. These cabinets take a long time to get in from Italy.

The other places to visit are Pedini in the Merchandise mart and ask for Judy or Hydrology on Lasalle and Hubbard and ask for Dale. Hydrology has a great showroom.
