Look .... They're here!!!

Please excuse my bad photography. I was rushing because I had to take Aunt B to the Dr.

BUT, AREN"T THEY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

They arrived yesterday. Sweet Jane sent them to me.

Here they are snuggled safely in 'till my storage issues are worked out and they will have a special place of honor to shine.

Just waiting for the pumpkin soup!!

Thank you Sweet Jane. How you've blessed me. Rest assured.... I'll be smiling and telling about the special friend who gave them to me often.

    Betty,

Bad photography are you kidding they are beautiful and I couldn't be happier for you. I love them and looked for some here but haven't seen any yet. I don't even do tablescapes and think they are super. They look great all snuggled in and I'm sure Jane will be delighted there home safe.

I'm soooo happy and relieved they arrived in good shape.
Even though I told them at the post office..
'They Are Fragile'... I still had 'horror'
    feelings that something would happen.
    I'm glad you're Lovin' them. I know they're in a 'Good Home'...LOL.
We'll all be looking forward to seeing some 'Formal' pictures!!!

Oh Betty I just drooled all over my keyboard. I have been looking for mini pumpkin soup tureens for 2 seasons. I found three somewhere (TJMaxx, etc) but did not get them. What good are three

? :-/ Oh my - these are drool-worthy indeed. Would you mind sharing details? Who made them? Where they came from, etc. Maybe I could find them on eBay, etc.

    Signed, Green with Envy :-D

Thank you, Punk. The hardest thing now is trying to get to the store to buy ingredients and finding the time to make the soup and set a table worthy of the "Beauties". Things are CRAZY around here. It seemed that I had more free time when I was working than I do now!

Sweet Jane, As the old saying goes- The post office "Did Good". The mailman came to my door and put them in my hands! And you packaged them so well, so gently cushioned, they couldn't be in any other condition but perfect.
'Formal' pictures are coming! As formal as this old country girl gets anyway! LOL

Thanks again for such a WONDERFUL present. What a generous heart you have, to go to all of that trouble and expense for someone you've never even met(except in cyberspace). You're a special person and it's hard for me to stop gushing, 'cause I've got the soup bowls to prove everything I've just said!

Thank you, Brutuses. They are VERY special.

theeverydaydecorator, I first saw them last year when TamGypsy posted pictures of one of her tablescapes using them. She said she got them at The Christmas Tree Shop.
We don't have a CTS ANYWHERE around here in Central Va.
But I was just having a fit. Someone(I can't remember who) said that Bed Bath and Beyond had bought CTS out. So, I called our local BB&B to see if I could get them to order me some. They said they couldn't. I went online and tried everyway I knew how to find them on their website (BB&B and CTS.) No luck.
I kept my eyes open for them every time I went shopping, hoping that just maybe some other company would start carrying them. Didn't happen.

And then my very own Angel went to the CTS, bought them, and mailed them to me!!!!! I'm still bubbling over with happiness!

I just looked on the bottom and will try to describe it because I CAN NOT get a clear close up pic hardly ever. (Maybe one of the others who has these bowls can get a close-up.)
In green print there is a shield looking thingy. On each side is a mermaid holding up a crown at the top between them. There is what looks like an olive branch (or maybe some kind of sea/ocean vegetation branch) above each mermaid's head. Under the crown is a scolloped seashell with the letters ND printed on it.
Underneath is a banner that has EXCLUSIVE printed on it and what looks lik a piece of coral on each side of the banner. Underneath the banner it says DISHWASHER/MICROWAVE SAFE. Underneath that says MADE IN CHINA. Everything is printed in green and I had to use a magnifying glass to see it as well as I did. These old eyes are getting bad.
I hope this helps you find some because they are soooooo pretty. GOOD LUCK

Thanks Luvs, Jane IS wonderful. And she surely made my wish come true!

Karen, I swear I've been like a kid at Christmas since Jane posted she was going to try to find me some of these bowls!! You'd have thought I'd won the lottery! (I did win the pumpkin soup bowl lottery!)

Gail, You are right. Present or no present, there are many special people here. They are always here to help you carry your burden in the hard times and to help you celebrate in the good times. I love them all.

Cindy, These GW friends are the VERY BEST.

    Hugs to all,
    Betty

I think most of us here, (including you) if they could, would do the same.

Glad they arrived safely, as they are delicate. I broke a bit off mine two years ago transporting it from the store...but I fixed it!

I have enjoyed Betty and Jane's pumpkin bowl saga along with everyone else. It is a "feel good" story, and it does make me happy.

I am glad (for both of you) the bowls arrived safely.

    Gotta love our Holidays forum!

Betty, those are gorgeous! I love, love, love the design on them. Jane, you are such a sweetie to do that! You know, they're wonderful for Autumn, but if you ever did a Cinderella, they'd be perfection. Hope you try it someday.

    Punk, Thanks. Me, too!

Thanks Prosp, It's good to 'hear' your voice! I've been thinking about you a lot lately. Wondering what you've been doing. Give us an update.

Thanks Jay, I love them. And yes, Jane is a Doll.

Jane, So what'cha saying, Girl? It was worth it to shut up my whining!!! LOL

I have a confession to make.

I still hadn't gotten to the store so I could make my pumpkin soup, so Monday I decided to just make some chicken/veggie soup because it was a cold fall day. I figured - soup is soup - and I could set a table with my new bowls. It was a win-win situation.

I got so busy frying up some apples that someone had given us, trying a new carrot cake recipe, fixing a dinner tray for my sick neighbor, making some cornbread muffins that Aunt B had requested. YEP, you guessed it. I grabbed some bowls out of the cabinet, dished up the soup and it wasn't until bedtime that I remembered my precious pumpkins sitting in the china cabinet! MAN! I wanted to kick myself!

As soon as I get over this strep throat that my Gkids gave me I'm going to set a table with them and they can just sit there looking pretty 'till I make the soup!

You can stop laughing now. :)

Kathleen, They ARE delicate. I'm glad you were able to fix your's.
Hey, Christmas 'LIST'. Nah... Better not press my luck. lol
Besides, I already got what was at the top of the list. Everything else would be fluff.

You're right, Lucky. Hot water would probably taste good out of them!

Lee, I DO love this forum. This family is special.

Punk, I'm glad you listened to Luvs. She's a smart Girl!

WOW! What a great idea Lynn! See... y'all come up with the greatest ideas! I just have to follow the leader. I think I overslept the day they were giving out creativity and missed out. lol

Thanks, Bonnie. I put them in the china cabinet in the living room because that is the one room where I won't let the kids play.
I know that may sound mean, but my Boys are REALLY active to say the least. One night my 15 year old DS was plsying hide and seek with the 5 year old DGS and decided that he would fold his whole 6'2" body up in his bathroom cabinet under the sink. Tiny cabinet. He broke the water line and water was everywhere before DH could get it shut off! It's never boring at my house!

    Still smiling,
    Betty

    Yes Betty...
You take care of that Strep Throat Girl..
Try to get rest. Have lots of hot soup & tea.
You will have plenty of time to 'Play' with your bowls, when you're better!
    LOL
