Fall Table

While the Gkids were away this weekend, I had some

'quiet time', and was able to put together my first

Fall Table.

These are the acorn bowls that many of us 'Jumped on' this Summer, when Pfaltzgraff had their big sale.

I purchased 4 in the brown color.

I used the same DR floral arrangement, but switched the white pitcher for an old metal container to match the color scheme.

I took a large napkin and folded it for the placemat.

The chargers are from Walmart - from last yr. The dinner plates are from GW, called Pinwheel and were $1 ea. I bought 4. The soup bowls - Home Trends, (I only have 2) were from a neighbor, who put a table out on her front lawn with items marked 'Free'.. I'm not shy..lol

The flatware was from TJ Max from last yr.

The Amber Stems I think I got them from HG two yrs ago.

They were on clearance but I don't remember what I paid for them. The candle holders are comprised of two seperate pieces. The amber votive holders were from CTS last yr..6 for $2. I placed them on small drk brown glass candle holders from Michael's - $1.39 ea on sale.

The small butter bowls are actually the bottoms of the 2 acorn bowls that I didn't use. I just removed the tops and placed the butter knife on top. The S&Ps were from

Joanne's last yr on clearance.

Hope you enjoyed looking. I was glad to get at least one Fall table in before moving on to Halloween!

That tablesetting is gorgeous, Jane! I completely missed the acorn thing and Pfaltzgraff sale this summer. Probably a good thing because they are just TOO CUTE! And what was the meal served at this lovely table?!

    Gorgeous!!
I love all the layering and your colors are perfect!
I missed the acorn bowls too, : (
Those look like the purple goblets I just got at HG this fall, but mine weren't on clearance! They weren't that expensive though.
    Great job on everything.

Oh, man. I love the color combinations. Really very, very nice. Everything just blends so well. I especially like the chargers and the napkin rings. Those chargers are super. Walmart, did you say??? Hmmm. I'll have to walk a little slower when I go through that store.

    Great job, as usual.

    Thanks everyone...
PM..you know the saying 'Looks good on paper' ?
Well that was the meal for this table...'All Show' !!
DH always tells everyone..we've got tons of dishes but we don't actually eat out of them!! Well...maybe sometimes!

Candy..I've seen the different colors of those glasses at HGs and the purple are gorgeous. I'm still waiting to get a couple more of the amber ones..never see them tho.

OA..thanks...I find it's 'Hit Or Miss' at Walmart. They're always moving things around, that I miss things half the time until I see it on here. Problem too, is that I'm usually rushing thru and don't get to see everything either.

Jane...this table is so comforting ...love the ambers, golds, browns, oranges ...like looking at our beautiful changing trees. And, of course, the softness of the candlelight...beautiful!

Love how you combined 2 napkin colors together & tied in the leaves of same colors & cute acorns...good plan on the placemats...look wonderful with those Walmart leaf chargers...I did see them the other day...but bought the clear glass lidded pumpkin instead...$4...thought it was a great buy...they had amber ones, too.

All the dishes fit so well tog in your layering...love the covered acorn bowls & your great finds in salad & dinner plates. Centerpc pot, very rustic...perfect for the arrangement & the table! Everything is warm & inviting. TFS! Jeanne S.

Jane, ditto on all the compliments. I love the nice warm glow of your wooden table too, it really the perfect jumping off place for your beautiful fall table. It's best that I missed the acorn bowls, I try to avoid posts that alert us to sales. My dish cabinets are bursting at the seams. It sure is fun to get to see everyone's lovely things here.

What a great way to start my day--seeing more pretty acorn bowls! Your salt/pepper shakers are really neat too, and like OA, I've not seen those chargers at our Walmart--and I do try to look carefully in that section! I love the way you layer things, and the berries in your arrangement really make it so pretty. Glad you had a bit of time to "create", it's good for the morale, isn't it? Your's and our's. ;o)

Ahhhhhhh . . . such a warm, inviting table! Its just beautiful, Jane! I knew, knew, knew that I was going to regret not buying some of those darling acorn bowls someday, and now I do . . . a lot! Love the wonderful layering of your dishes and chargers (I have those same chargers, too) and how beautifully you've folded the napkins. You've gotten such great buys with everything and put them all together to create a table that looks like a million dollars. Thanks for sharing it with us. I always love seeing tables done is my all time favorite dining room.

Jane, it looks fallicious! Really, so pretty! All the diff shades you used and the glassware is lovely! It does look very peaceful, like your weekend! :)
Glad you got some time to do something fun, and I hope you are feeling better!

Jane, your table is beautiful. Love the acorn bowls and seeing your chargers makes me want to get mine out and play. The layering of your dishes is stunning. You always make such pretty tables.

Thank you again ladies for all your nice compliments.

Jeanne..so glad you were able to get the Pumpkin Bowl.
I know how you've been wanting one and the price was right too! Now you have to fill it and 'show it off'! lol

frou..I know what you mean about dish cabinets bursting at the seams. I hate having to pile dishes up on one another just to fit them in. The problem I have is trying to find
something I can get rid of - seems I never do.

Luvs...so true on finding time to create,is good for the morale. I find I'm more relaxed when I'm 'caught up' in creating!

yachter..those chargers seem to be 'a hit'. Funny how some Walmart's have them, and others don't. Maybe it's in the timing of when you're looking.

Lynn...I was almost going to pass up those acorn bowls. I had seen them myself on the Pfaltzgraff web site..but then someone here - forget who - mentioned them and myself and a few others here, caved in and got them. I remember always loving them when I first saw Kathleens'.

Kathleen..I'm feeling much much better thank you.
These acorns bowls were always a hit when you first showed them, and everyone wanted them.
I know your's are a different color and it was hard to choose which color I liked best, but then I
decided to go with one that would match with what I already had.

Punk...thanks. I know you've been very busy cause you would have put a table together with these chargers in no time at all. Look forward to when you get some 'down' time to play again.

WOW, Jane! What a BEAUTIFUL table you created. I'm going to ditto ALL the others comments! Plus add I'm jealous of your photography skills as well. (so many of you here really know how to take fantastic pictures!)

I bought two of those acorn bowls when we were told about that sale, LOL. Now if I only knew how to use them.

I'm so glad to see you feeling better, and thanks for the invitation to your lovely table tonight. Its a keeper!
    hugs, Karen

Thanks Karen...yes, now I remember that you were one who jumped on the 'Acorn Sale'. I forgot who got us all fired up to do that! Anyway, you see I only used 2 of the bowls and I'm sure a nice vignette could be done using them..even if you only used one. I think you got a different color too. Come on out and 'play' with your acorn bowls..
    Please!

Jane, how gorgeous! I've gone back several times and looked at your photos. Each time I see something I missed.

First of all, those acorn bowls are fabulous! I hate I missed that sale. I am drooling over your chargers. I've never seen those in WM, but will definitely be looking when I go back. I love how you've decorated your napkins and the S/P shakers are a cute touch.

Everything is just simply beautiful and so perfect for fall!

Jane...Your table is stunning. The acorn bowls, the chargers, the stemware, everything goes together beautifully. I'm so glad you are feeling better.

    Jane,

It's just beautiful. I love the s&p shakers, and the napkin rings and of course the acorn bowls. You know that I love orange and brown and all the fall colors! And the chargers--how come I didn't see those at Wal-Mart? The napkin rings are sweet and fit right into your theme. And I love how you made the candleholders!

You put the floral arrangement in a perfect container.

Ha! Looks like I'm going to have to plagiarize again! You ladies have just too much talent!

    - Magpie

    p.s. I'm SOOOO glad you're feeling better.

Thanks Magpie for your kind words..I am doing much better.
and I'm so happy you enjoyed this table.
Gee some have seen these chargers at WM, and some have not.
Wonder if it's a regional thing.
Glad you liked the container for the floral arrangement.
It's one of my favorites and is a combo of tin and copper.
