Welcome gasuz! I so enjoyed your slideshow of Christmas decorations! I lost count of the trees you put up in your home, with the themes, they look wonderful...do you start decorating Nov. 1st? So many beautiful garlands as well. Everything looks terrific. Do you feel overwhelmed at the thought of getting started decorating or excited?

What an intro, your decorations are really beautiful. I loved the 'tour'. All the trees, the Santa and Nutcracker collections, and most of all those fantastic garlands around the windows and mirrors. WOW! And to put the large trees in your kids rooms too, how cool is that!

    Oh, and welcome too!

Welcome,Susan. You do a lot of decorating! Very nice!!!

You said you are new to forums...I made this mistake too. Lock your family albums to keep them private. I am sure you only wanted to share your decorations...I think?
I would have emailed you privately, but you didn't list an email..

Hope you will stick around here, we love people who decorate!

Hi Gasuz, what a nice way to introduce yourself on here! We love pictures!

You must really love to decorate for the holiday! Was that for an Open House tour or just your "normal" thing? I don't think I've ever seen so many trees! Were there four or five just in the dining room? Did you make your wreaths and swags? They are all beautiful. I love the way you use "themes" on it all too.

Hope you will join in on the discussions here and enjoy all the things we share. There should be lots going on soon with the holidays coming up. How did you find the forum? And does your forum name have a special meaning?

uh..Kathleen, I didn't lock my family album either.
Is that a problem? In fact only one album on Photobucket is locked, my cards and graphics. I keep a lot of private albums on Kodak, but figured it was ok to share a family one on PB. ??

Wow, that is a lot of trees. Do you do that every year? Where do you store all of that. Lots of work.

Karen, it is OK if you want it to be!!! I just didn't realize anyone could view my family albums, and really I only wanted my decorating pics shown.

My son and dil are attorneys and are very adament about having family pics on the web. There are a lot of strange people out there ...and they do some nasty things. I know none of us would...:)

So if you are ok with it, fine, but I didn't know, nor did Luvs, and we locked our family pics.
As Susan said she was new to forums, just wanted to make sure she knew! ;)

    Welcome Gasuz,
Loved the photos and especially the kitchen photo tree. Thanks for sharing them. Kareen

Thanks for the info, Kathleen. Guess I tend to be too trusting on some things. Plus I figure there's about a "gazillion" personal photos floating around on the Internet one way or another, so mine are just a drop in the bucket. I'd be more protective cause of Jason, but his are already easily found on the web from news stories. I do keep most of my family ones private on Kodak tho.

Hey Suz, speaking of photos, can I put some of yours in our Xmas Inspiration album?
And by the way Folks, Photobucket now has stuff to play with, so I did on all our albums one sleepless night. LOL.

    hugs, Karen

Wow Gasuz..Welcome !! Talk about 'Deck The Halls'..enjoyed your slideshow..Just Beautiful. How long does it take you to do it all? Do you decorate the trees every year or do you store them w/decoratons on, and when do you start to do your decorating? Sorry for all the questions..but I'm blown away by all the trees and trimmings.. I know I like to start the weekend of Thanksgiving, so I can enjoy them as long as I can. Lots of work..but it looks so lovely. Once again..welcome and thanks for sharing your beautiful 'Christmas House' with us...

I just went back through the whole album...Wow, Susan, I have to know too! When do you start putting up all those trees?? I only do 4 and I wish I could start now!!
That is an amazing amount of decorations...I see the one in the living room is live too!
Hope you come back to ans our burning questions!!

Wow, what an introduction! Gorgeous decorations.

    Welcome!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I think we had 10 trees last year. I started with one, but then I had other ideas for trees/themes, so rather than abandon one theme..I added another! It actually takes less than 2 weeks to put up. I used to start the day after Thanksgiving, but now I start around the 15th of November (and many years it is finished by Thanksgiving). I try to have it finished by December 1, so we can enjoy it a few weeks (before I feel the need to tear it all down) It is all down by January 1 (I have to start my New Year "fresh" with everything "back in its place") I love the holidays, so I enjoy all the decorating. I do all the wreaths, garland, and trees. It all gets boxed up and stored in the attic. When the boxes come down, it looks like we are moving!

I keep a notebook with an inventory of everything (as well as gift lists, card lists, etc) and I jot down ideas. In August or September, the notebook comes out and I look at what I did last year and see what/if I want to change or add. The kids are responsible for their trees (they are older) The last couple of years I have kept it pretty much the same. This year, I want to move it around (ex: put the family tree from kitchen in dining room) so we will see what I end up with this year!

Kathleen, Thanks for the photo info. I guess I am one of the trusting type too... and with Facebook, etc.. I think the pictures are up elsewhere as well (but I appreciate you looking out for me!)

Luvs, "Normal" for me (decorating). No Open House (I keep saying "One day") I do sometimes have family parties or invite friends over. Most people I know look forward to stopping by and seeing the lights (and they know it's ok, especially if they call first, LOL) "gasuz"- I live in GA and name is Susan (I know, not very original). I found the site by search. I was trying to find more pictures of tablescapes (I saw some of Judith's on RMS 3-4 weeks ago and "needed" to see MORE..... NOW, LOL) I was thrilled to find the site, and the tablescapes and the stacked plates (yes I have ordered some)I "made" my first tablescape 2-3 weeks ago...and I am a "dish-aholic in training"

Kathleen, the live tree in the living room (we HAVE to have ONE live every year) was in bad shape by the time I took the picture (the day after Christmas). It came down right after I took pictures of it. I had thought I had gotten pictures of it after it was decorated, but I didn't.

I am ready to decorate, but we are painting downstairs, so I need to get that project finished first. We have a 20 year old house, so it is past time to try and update it.... a slow process when you are doing the work!

I hope I answered all the questions. Thanks again for the warm welcome!

    gasuz

PS Where is the UPS man with my stacked plates I ordered? (standing with hands on hips tapping foot looking out the window for the truck.... LOL)

gasuz, you forgot one important question, LOL...
can I put you in our Inspiration album? I always ask the new folks if its ok to copy their photos.

I'm glad you're getting the stacked plates, they are way too much fun!

hugs, Karen (who waiting for that guy with my cloche!!)

    Karen

Sorry, I knew I'd miss something. Yes you are welcome to use any photos (I am not good at taking photos)

    My stacked plates have shipped....waiting...

I WANT A CLOCHE... too... (blaming on Judith, LOL)... any suggestions where to look?

DD or Kathleen sent a couple of us to Pfaltzgraff where they are on clearance! OA and I both ordered one. They come on a cake stand but its the big cloche like we wanted.

Gasuz,I should have put in the link to cloche instead of whole clearance site, making you hunt for it.
    Here you go.

It was me. I got mine last year at the Pfaltzgraff clearance center here, and they have it on line too.

    Here it is..

    My cloche arrived this evening......

Thank you Kathleen for sending us to the right place with a good price.

Never pay retail, I have it tattoed on my arm, LOL...
Glad you got yours, OA should get hers soon..

    Purplemoon,
    You rat! Yours came first.
I gave Pfaltzgraff the wrong expiration date on my charge card and it delayed my cloche. I haven't got mine yet. (Tears as I type this.)
What's the first thing you're going to display in it?
    OA

I am so excited I got the cloche that I haven't thought what or where with it. LOL. I have to be careful where it goes due to the cats. I'll probably do a Fall decoration in it tho for the next few weeks, then decide what to do for Xmas. Right now its on its cake stand, but I didn't attach the pole part. If I put the cloche on another plate base, then maybe I'll add the pole and lift the cake stand to display something else.
Sorry yours got delayed, OA, hopefully it will get there asap. Have you got a plan in mind already? I bet you do!
