For a rental, washer/dryer hookups in the garage. Sometimes college students or other non-couple room-mates rent small houses and having the laundry room accessible only via one of the bedrooms will decrease the number of potential renters you will have. Ditto, making the garage smaller. Loads of renters have small pick-ups or standard size vehicles that would not be able to fit in the smaller garage. The rest often have lots of junk (bicycles, lawnmower, etc) that those extra few feet in the garage are filled up with.

A separate laundry room is nice but not typically expected in a rental unit. So not having one won't be a minus.

Mostly agree. Yes, put them in the garage. But improve overall appearance and use by enclosing them in a closet-like area which also has a drop-down table (incorporated on the inside of the door) for folding clothes, cabinet storage over the machines for soaps, etc. and a valet bar for hangars. It won't be a separate room, but would provide most of the advantages... and add a layer of protection between the machines and vehicle. I do suggest using a stop-curb on the garage floor to better prevent a vehicle from going too far.

Rule of thumb - always listen to the person who actually USES a given space the most. LOL!
