I purchased ROYAL ALBERT flatware. It is stainless steel with gold handles. It is dishwasher safe. I bought mine at Ross but it is readily available on ebay, etc. Many of my guests have commented on their beauty. I'm not sure what exact metal the golden portions are made of though.

Thanks, Susie. You won't beleive this. I was in Ross about a month ago and I was looking at that set of flatware. A lady who saw me looking said "you better get it, even if you change your mind and bring it back. They don't get the gold-plated very often."

I thought about it and classified it as a "want" and not a need. Now my Thanksgiving Dinner count has gone up and I actually NEED it!! It went back Saturday but they had none.

Guess I'll have to get a list of all the Ross's around here go to all of them.

Pdg, I have to go look at the brand on mine.
I have had it 10 years and it washes in the dishwasher and stays nice and hasn't lost its shine.
I think I got it in Bed Bath and Beyond and I know it was around 100, and I had a coupon...

I don't have a set but one of my friends does so I'll try to remember to ask her what brand it is. However she doesn't have a dishwasher so maybe that wouldn't help you. I hope you can find a nice set before Thanksgiving.
