I wish Viking made a 36" or 48" induction or hybrid rangetop

How about two 24 inch units side by side?

You could turn this into an advantage. Buy a 30" 4 burner induction unit and then put a powerful induction or gas wok next to it. Might even work with a 36" 5 burner induction unit. Or you could put either a gas grill next to it, or a combination attached induction grill that is made by one or two companies.

I do not believe there is a residential induction cooktop larger than 36inches, although as they become more popular I am sure I will be proved wrong - this site has some info on cooktops but also a link to a comprehensive vendor of induction cooktops

Here is a link that might be useful: www.induction-cooktop.com

You could put a series of Cooktek two-element hobs on a countertop. They would take about 16-inches per pair (hobs oriented front to back). So a six-hob setup would require around 48 inches, eight-hob setup about 64 inches, etc. Or a pair of 36-inch Divas side by side would provide 72 inches of hobs. You are only limited by the size of the counterspace available and your willingness to pay for a large custom ventilation hood.

You will need major amperage to have side-by-side units. You might want to check the empty circuit availability on your main board-- bumping up to an additional board can be major $.
