Autumn Leaf dinnerware by Hall China

Thanksgiving is over & it certainly is quiet around our house...I so enjoy this forum of ideas & have appreciated all the artistic ideas here for the holidays!

I posted this pic on another thread & wanted to share these dishes. I can see so many of you are also pottery & china addicts (tee hee) so thought you may enjoy these pics. Thank you, luvstocraft, for asking about my collection.

These are dishes I have collected for about 20 yrs & continue to add a pc at a time. I bought my first pcs. at my DH's parents estate sale & can remember my Mom & Grandma having a few pcs.

Hall China produced this pattern exclusively for the Jewel Tea Company who offered them as premiums for the purchase of other products. Here's a model of Jewel Tea truck in my china cabinet:

New pcs were added regularly to the premium line & old pcs were discontinued periodically...until Autumn Leaf was discontinued in 1976. (I started collecting about 1990) Here's a cake plate and a coffee pot. I've gotten more picky now in adding pcs...don't buy pcs. with gold edges worn like on this plate:

We do "buffet style" here for family get-tog. so I have never "set" a table like the gorgeous ones I have been able to view on this forum...but I will try something next yr. at Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, my china cabinet is my version of your "tablescaping." :-) Thanks for looking! Jeanne

You've collected some great pieces Jeanne. I didn't even know there were teapots, pitchers, and lamps in that pattern. Mostly I've just seen the plates and bowls maybe a few serving bowls. My sister had a few of them, and I see them in allot of the antique stores too. You have a good sized collection and they look lovely in your cabinet along with your angels--but just wait till you decide to use them and do a tablescape with a pretty centerpiece and other "accessories"! It really is fun to see what you can create, and you can do it just for fun--so don't wait till next year, okay? ;o) Luvs

Your dish history was very interesting to read, and I loved you having the little truck in your collection as well. Its all displayed so nicely with the little extra touches you've added. Definitely a collection to be proud of.

Jeanne, I love these dishes and I also enjoyed reading how you started your collection and have kept adding. You have alot of pieces and would have a hard time trying to use all of them on a tablescape so you better get started. It's so addicting that once you start you will not be able to stop.

You have quite a collection. It's interesting how you started and how your collection grew over time.
I too love the little 'Jewel Tea Truck'.
What a nice addition to go along with your china's history.

I really like your set, I've been collecting Hall china Wildfire pattern for about 10 yrs and have a service for 8, the only thing I'm missing is the dinner plates, from I understand they are hard to find and if you do it wold cost around $ 55.00 or more per plate. so I use the breakfast / lunch as dinner plates. Its nice to see some one else enjoys Hall china.
