Nativity is set up

Well I keep moving forward with the decorating. I've had this bisque nativity for about 11years. It was a gift from my mom. I usually set it up on the piano but dd got me a new one last year.... and I've decided to rearrange where everything is going to be this year. So It is set up on the dresser in the master bedroom.... Hopefull dh will not empty his pockets there till Jan.!!! LOL!!

Hopfully the clickable picture will work this time.

Tell me what you think.

I like it. Especially the branch behind it and the little evergreen trees around it. How nice that your Mom gave it to you. I really miss my Mom this time of year. She loved Christmas so much and got excited opening presents just like a little kid.

Very nice. I like the branch thing too with the glitter. It really sets up a nice backdrop for your nativity!

I want to say everything that Betty just said, so ditto me on ALL of it.
I am saving your picture for our Xmas album, I don't have many Nativity displays in there. Plus now I bought my first one, I'm looking for ideas myself.

    Beautiful display.

Did you purposely hang the white cross on the wall above it, or was it already there? Fits right in, doesn't it.

Oh man, you are going to have to dust it before Cmas! LOL
    Looks very pretty.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments.
The branches I made last year. They are cut from a dogwood tree in the woods painted white with gold brushed on, and then glitter.
The cross hangs there normally with a family picture next to it. here are a couple of shots with the lights on.

very lovely Nativity. I too like how you set it up with the brances as a backdrop. How nice to have it in your bedroom...I would keep it lit during the nite, as it's such a peaceful scene.

Very nice. I think you will enjoy it in the bedroom. I put a large one on my cedar chest at the end of my king bed last year. It is also in the white and one my sister made when she was doing ceramics.

My late mother collected nativity sets and I have all of hers. Many are in the one piece style with the multiple people all in one. Some are small, inexpensive things that she just picked up through the years and some are nicer and larger. They all have so much special meaning to me. I had 13 or 14 of them last year. My sisters didn't express an interest in them and I had them stored at my house, so I displayed them all last year. She also collected angels that she left out year round. We divided them so that all of the grandkids and great-grands could have some and now we have a couple of great-greats.

I just love the sense of family and memories--especially at this time of year. I miss both parents and in-laws so much more during the holidays, but at the same time love having such wonderful momentos of the two Moms.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful pics and memories with us.

Very nice. Love it with the branch and lit up as you get the shadows from the branch.

I agree with all the prior comments, Bright. It looks really nice, and especially lovely at night when it's all lit up. You are really eager to get all set up this year, aren't you? I'm so glad to see your enthusiasm--just hope you won't tire of it before the big day actually arrives! Luvs

It's the second topic that is talking about white porcelain nativity set and I've never seen such set before!

All I can say is that I really love it! Your nativity is splendid, especially with the light turned on!

Bright, your nativity is simply beautiful. I'm with everyone else - love the branch that you've put behind it. Somehow it just seems to showcase the nativity.

very pretty peaceful serene scene and what a way to go to sleep at night. Maybe hubby will need a small tray on his nightstand or one in the bathroom to empty his pockets into for the holiday season. It would be a shame to clutter that up.....

Thank you all sooo much for your wonderful comments. I went in last night several times trying to decide if it needs anything else, but decided to leave it just as it is.
Printer I'm with Karen can't wait to see pictures of all your nativities! How wonderful that you have kept them all.
Luvs, I was thinking of leaving it there after the holidays!!

Bright, I like the "Holy Night" look to the white/gold colour of your Nativity and how you have it set up. It looks so "all is calm". I like the twigs in the background too. I did something similar, not with a Nativity, but I put the lights along the back of the branches and made the little lights stick out in some of the twigs (might look like stars in the sky if you tried but you may also need lights with a white cord so they don't show as much)- just a suggestion, it looks lovely as is. I can see how you might want to leave it up after Christmas too.

Bright, Your nativity is beautiful and I love how you have it arranged. The brach laid behind is really a nice touch.

Two thumbs up Bright. Very nice.

Yes, Printersdevil, a lovely story. I had a plastic Nativity Set as a child, I wish I had it now. Not fancy, but I liked it a lot.

Very nice!! I really like how you display it, very elegant and pretty.

One of the things I would like to add this holiday is a Nativity on top of my buffet in the dining room. Hopefully I can find one I like at a reasonable price, if not I will have to wait for the after x-mas sales for display next year.

Very pretty, I put branches like that behind one of my nativity sets instead of a stable. This picture is from 2006. I can't find a picture from last year, but I added more branches and it was more like yours. - Gail

ncnana...your arrangement is very beautiful also. Nice arrangement with all the accessories. I like how you incorperated the greens and branches into it all.. It just 'pops' against your fireplace mantel.
